It toasts, just not altogether reliably. The temp dial is wonky, not very trustworthy. Let's say you're making four pieces of toast, all the same bread. The first two in... probably too light, so you push it down again and probably get a pretty dark pair. Put the next two pieces in and even without resetting the dial... wow, that's dark! So, what's with that?

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and it's very chick looking but the Thermostat when on 3 doesn't make it Golden brown , 4 Burns it especially the Right hand side of the Toaster! And a higher Temp burns the food in it! I thought for the price it would have been a better assesory!

So far, I have not been able to make one piece of acceptable toast. It is always almost burnt on one side and hardly toasted on the other.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toaster doesn't toast bagels correctly. The bagel and regular toast are the same. I have many Cuisinart products that works great but sadly this toaster doesn't live up to it's name..
