I purchased this toaster because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, was decently priced, and had all the features I wanted. I toast bread several times a day so it gets a lot of use, and is working great. I like it has a cancel button in case I decide to pop up the toast early. The only negative feature is the bagel button. All other toasters I have owned the bagel button only browns the interior sides of the toast, not even turning on the two most outside heating elements. But this toasters bagel button turns on all the heating elements but extends the toasting time. But other than that minor issue I am happy with my purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Well, it works, unlike my last 30 year old toaster. It's lightweight and compact. Those are the good things. The failures follow: - Toasts only one side of the slice of bread. - Cord storage is insane. Takes about 5 minutes and cord is too short to wrap around the toaster and be done. You need to wrap the cord around an oblong piece on the bottom of the toaster. This means any crumbs spill out. It takes several minutes to wrap the cord around the oblong shape and 4 prongs which are too short to handle two wraps of the cord. Storage of the plug is then another rather odd step of wrapping the cord under a hook-shaped protrusion so that the plug sticks out of the side. Why can Oster who makes my small, compact hand mixer, use a push-button retractable cord and Cuisinart can't figure out how to do it for a toaster, a much larger item? This cord wrapping is absolutely moronic. Please deal with your design team to come up with a better method.
- This morning when preparing the toaster for storage, a plastic piece fell out/off and I have no idea where it goes.
I think I'm going to return it to Amazon and find another brand.

This toaster was a replacement for one that suddenly died, so I was kind of in a hurry and I should have shopped around more. It is very light weight (plastic) and does the job just fine, but a couple things are different from my old one: the 'cage' that holds the bread is not very deep, so larger pieces are unevenly toasted. There are no 'beeps' - my old one beeped when it was done and it popped up all the way; this one has no sounds and it simply released the locking lever, but does not raise up the bread.
