If you like your toast burnt or soft this is the right one to buy. Even on the first setting the bread does not toast properly it remains soft and higher than 1 it burns

The Cuisinart 2 Slice toaster works very well. I have been pleased with how well it toasts different types of breads from thick bagels to thin sourdough. The heating coils seem to be consistent and they heat quickly.

Toasts very unevenly. Even at 2 it burnt parts of my toast. I’ve been a long time fan of Cuisinart appliances and cookware but this is a very disappointing product.

I haven’t had my Cuisinart toaster for very long; but so far it’s performed great. I’ve used the defrost function and that’s a nice feature. My toast is done perfectly ( not burned). The toaster is easy to blesn. So far I am super pleased.

Just a small thing: You have to use greater than regular pressure to push down the lever all the way to Toast position. And Cuisinart suggested this review to be 2-3 sentences long so it's "quality".

Terrible toaster. Burns half the side of toast and under-toasts the other half. Have messed with the settings and no luck improving. This is the worst toaster I have experienced in my 60 + years of making toast.
