My new toaster replaces a much older but similar Cuisinart toaster, the handle of which broke off making operation difficult. No complaint: we had the old toaster for a long time. The new toaster is well constructed and has a couple of minor but useful improvements, most notably the Defrost button and the Rewarm button, which work well. My only complaint: when toasting, the new toaster does not toast bread as completely as the old one did. Using the maximum setting, the new toaster toasts the surfaces reasonably well but the inside of the bread, not so much. To get it the way I like it, and to produce the same degree of toastedness as the old one did, I have to use the max setting, then once it finishes, toast again for 30-45 seconds. I use Alexa to time the second toasting, then hit the Cancel button when the 45-second timer goes off.

This toaster has a nice design, but it toasts unevenly. The lower half of a bagel or piece of toast comes out much darker. And, the control knob on this toaster doesn’t seem to work. When turned down to level 2, it still toasts quite darkly.

Very uneven toasting. Could never find a good setting. The dial did not click in, just loosely turned. Tried to use it for a week. Exchanging it for a Kitchen Aid.

For purposes of toasting it does that. The side that faces the middle toasts much darker than the side that faces the outside. Very hard to get a brown toast on the outside without almost burning the side facing inside. The bagel function makes no sense as that should shut off the heaters on one side, usually the middle but that is not the case. The “bagel” function is essentially useless. If you have a bagel with cheese on th stop you are about to have a mess. But it is a toaster and it works. The other functions we have not used.
