Great alternative to a french press. A lot easier to clean too. Great tasting coffee. I suggest using a coarse grind and a 15:1 ratio.

Previously I had a Cuisinart 12 cup Extreme Brew. It was a workhorse for many years, but was getting old so I started researching what I was going to replace it with. I found the SCAA list of recommended coffee makers for 2022 and picked one out. My first attempt was returned without ever making a cup of coffee. It was overpriced and in my humble opinion very flimsy. In fact, it arrived with the top askew from the base and I had to snap it back together. So back it went. My next choice turned out to be the winner. I really loved the look of the PurePrecision Cuisinart, and was already familiar with the build quality and integrity of the Cuisinart brand. Let me tell you, it makes a fabulous cup of coffee. In fact it makes 8 of them. The coffee maker itself is solidly put together. Super well designed. And there's absolutely nothing about it I would change. Plus, the carafe is the best looking glass carafe I've ever seen. Enjoy!

Overall, I love this coffee brewer! It is vastly superior to my last coffee maker. It makes great coffee and I love the design. I have two concerns about the design. The lid just sits inside the pot. I worry it might pop out during pouring so I put fingers from my other hand on the lid while pouring. The other concern is when I open the lid to remove the grounds. Water drips into a little reservoir and I can’t figure out how that drains. Having said all that, this coffee brewer makes excellent coffee and I would buy it again.
