I have only owned the unit for 3 weeks and have not yet made one good cup of coffee.I have tried only two brands of coffee that I have liked for years and they always seem bitter. In addition the coffee does not stay hot for very long in the thermos, but it looks nice.

Let me begin by saying that I have only owned Cuisinart coffee makers for the last 15+ years. My grind and brew coffee maker is a workhorse that makes incredibly delicious coffee. When I moved 2 months ago, my 12 year old Grind and Brew system (which still works perfectly!) was too big for my space, so (because I am a brand-loyal person) I came directly to Cuisinart to find a replacement machine that fit. Long story short: I purchased the PurePrecision coffee maker and was bitterly disappointed. The first 2 weeks, the coffee (Starbucks blonde roast) was all but undrinkable! It was incredibly tangy - which research told me that the water was pouring through the grounds too quickly. I tried changing the brew strength, the temperature, the filter type (gold, paper, laser cut steel) . . . . . nothing worked. I tried brewing the same coffee in the 12-year old machine - and the coffee tasted perfect! I have sense purchased 2 additional brands and types of coffee (Starbucks Espresso and Peets Italian) - both of which resulted in better tasting coffee; however, the coffee tastes nowhere near as good as I expected from this manufacturer. Given the purchase price of this machine, I cant justify spending the same amount/more money to replace this machine. Instead, I have had to make do with coffee that is not up to the standard I have come to expect from this brand. I am less than impressed with this particular machine.

The lid is not very secure. I noticed this when I was rinsing the pot, the lid completely fell off when I tipped the pot, luckily there was nothing hot. A warning to others.

It's a nicely built machine, but I was hoping for more. Seems the coffee is just average, similar to my cheap coffee maker. Maybe I had my hopes too high for restaurant quality? Any suggestions?

Not really what I hoped for. Doesn't have a real alternating seep cycle like the KithenAid, resulting in a bland taste. Also the water markings on both carafe and water tank are useless. AND there is NO ready tone.

I am right handed and it is awkward pouring the water in the reservoir since it is on the left side. I also don’t like that you can’t smell the coffee while it is brewing.
