We have enjoyed making our own ice cream with this easy to use machine! Recipes are so good! I now have some ideas of my own thanks to the recipes. Venturing into frozen yogurt and sorbet this week! Even if you’re not into the frozen yogurts or sorbet, the machine is worth it just for making ice cream!
In general this is a good product. The negative is a lot of icecream is frozen on the side and bottome when the icecream is ready and you take it out. You have to wait until the barrel begins thawing or waist over 1/2 cup of icecream
I bought this after using the old type where you had to push ice in the bucket as it churned. The difference: the old method freezes it it a custard consistency. The Cuisinart freezes it faster and harder in the bottom of the bucket. I would recommend letting it sit for a few minutes when it's done churning so you can mix everything in the bin!
I have had my ice60-w maker for several months. I also bought a spare freezer bowl so I can make two batches back to back. I buy a custard mix at a local dairy ready to freeze. I make at least one batch per week. Maker works great. The only problem with it is the lid it doesn’t stay in place. A better latch would be great. If there is a little ice in the bowl when starting the lid wants to jump off. Overall a great machine for homemade ice cream in minutes.
The cuisinart is a great way to get started on making your own ice cream at home. Make any flavor you want. Very easy to use and clean the best part is homemade ice cream. I make organic ice cream at half the cost .
