These heaters have a ‘night mode’ that Tim’s the display, but does nothing about the giant red light projecting on the wall. Vornado is clearly aware that it’s annoying to have lights on at night, so why not have the ability to turn them ALL off? Scratching my head over here.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using two of these for little over a month now, and have found them really effective in heating up and maintaining the temperature of medium sized bedrooms. I love the features, esp. Auto Climate so that I can have the temperature just right, not too toasty, not too cold - this was a must for me. Just one drawback (or rather an expected behavior), it heats the room to 4 degree Fahrenheit more than the set temperature, then cuts off, and then starts back on when the temperature comes down to 3 degree above the set temperature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heater it very user friendly and definitely put off some heat. Has auto climate meaning you set a temperature and it runs until it hits that temperature then turns off and if it drops below that temperature it'll turn back on. It has a 20 second cool down once you turn it off. I would recommend you let it run for a couple hours to let it burn off the plastic smell because it definitely smells. Other than that it's a great Heater.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this whole room heater. It really does a great job of warming a room up quickly. Super quiet when you have it on.. Love the shut off feature if it gets knocked over. I use this heater in my living room, which is a good size room and it does a great job keeping the room warm. Very lightweight and easy to use. I highly recommend this heater to anyone looking to purchase a good quality electric heater for their home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to keep my dining room and kitchen warm because it stays blocked off due to my dining room french doors. The thermostat setting works wonderfully and keeps both rooms at the perfect temperature! Have had no issues with it and it works GREAT. Highly recommend if you need a heater to keep a couple rooms warm!

This was a great purchase for me. This is a dual fan/heater. The heater is great. If you are looking for a great small heater this is a reasonable buy. It definitely does the job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this about a month ago for my daughter's room. It works great. It doesn't get hot so she will not get burnt on it. There is a button on the bottom that is pushed down when its upright, but if you move or accidentally knock it down, it will automatically turn off, which is amazing.

Little heater with a lot of heat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got the Vornado Velocity 5 heater just in time for our first cool snap in South Texas. It rarely gets cold enough in Houston to justify turning on the central heat, but the ceiling heater that came with our bathroom vent system does not do enough to knock the chill out of the bathroom first thing in the morning. The Vornado whole room heater lives up to its name and heats our bathroom to a comfortable temperature in under ten minutes. It is a great size to move from room to room and is very light. A nice feature is the cool down it does for twenty seconds when you turn it off so you can put it away without worry as soon as it is off. I also like that the case never gets hot so no worries about bumping into it as you walk past. Other good features are the nighttime mode where the control panel lights are turned off and the control locking mode. I highly recommend Velocity 5 whole room heater!
