Excellent laptop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with Samsung's Galaxy Book S laptop. First of all, the laptop's batter life is impressive. I use my laptop a lot for work - from Zoom meetings to writing endless documents and I didn't need to worry about changing the computer. Even with heavy use, this laptop can go a couple days between charging which is quite impressive.
Many laptops on the market can be quite heavy. Not this laptop. It's thin and light. It is incredibly portable. Due to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor, it is an ARM-based processor that is the same type that's used inside smartphones and tablets. Which gives Samsung the capability to shrink the overall size (no use of fans!) The laptop is roughly 2 pounds so at times, I even forgot my laptop was inside my purse.
The touchscreen display was incredibly helpful. The display is 13.3 inch touchscreen and the display was a standard (1920×1080). Watching videos was a breeze. The display actually looks very crisp. As far as sound is concerned, it was very powerful. I was amazed especially since the laptop is very thin, I was surprised on the booming sound that came from the laptop.
The web cam is 720 HD (above the display) and was very helpful during those many Zoom meetings. The keyboard is sort of shallow and it requires very little pressure to activate. The keys jump right back up immediately. I type a lot and I find that many keyboards can be very loud. Not this laptop.
Overall, I really like this laptop. Apps work very well and amazingly fast. This laptop is certainly best for anyone on the move!

Awesome Laptop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Galaxy Book S has a great premium quality, look, and feel. Mine came in mercury gray. The laptop is made from anodized aluminum, which in itself is a great achievement that makes it weigh just 2.18 lbs. The battery life in this laptop is amazing as I easily get around 16 hours from a single charge. It has an LTE connectivity which is useful for where there is no WiFi. This laptop has a great HD display at 1080p. There is a little bit of glare in direct sunlight, but I am still work with it. The audio quality is very crisp. The ARM processor packs enough punch to get me through most of my daily task. I can do most of my work using the browser, and the browser of choice for this laptop is the Microsoft Edge. The 720p camera is still great and able to make high quality videos and shots. For me, the only downside to this laptop is the shallow depth of the keyboard. Overall, the laptop is great and gets me through the day.

Best Laptop i have ever owned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Galaxy Book S is by far the best laptop i have ever owned (and im a heavy mobile / desktop user). From unpack-aging the Book S is EXTREMELY light and THIN, but still feels SOLID, it is very wel constructed! The initial power on and setup was like any other win10 device. Once setup I downloaded and installed all my normally used programs. Unlocking this device with the finger print scanner is BLAZING fast, all my apps load and run flawlessly. The touch screen is responsiveness and accurate, along with the touch pad (and I'm generally not a touch pad fan!) The screen is crisp and clear. love that the keyboard illuminates! only issue i have is the laptop is so thin its a little awkward to open.. but i can live with it. The book S is and amazing piece of hardware and would highly recommend it over anything else out there!

The best laptop I ever had.
The battery life is pretty good and i can work all day with it.
I also love the keyboard, it has a nice feel to it and looks high quality.
The camera is very clear for videos and pictures.
The performance is fast.
I used multiple application at the same time, and don't see any lag in performance.
I like the advanced features like the Touchscreen.
Surfing internet is fun with this laptop, watching videos with great screen display and audio. And even for office work, it is very reliable.
Very advance that i can use it like a tablet with the touchscreen feature. I can also use it as a computer with its keyboard.
I would be very proud to bring this anywhere i go. Fancy looking, high end, lightweight and has the perfect size.
Samsung did a great job with this Laptop

Upon opening the box and starting it up, it booted up fast. The first thing it had me do was activate the fingerprint log on portion. That was easy. Once I got in the laptop required a firmware update, had to update windows and had to install new version of Microsoft Edge as it came preinstalled with old version. I did get an error code 3 times that windows failed to activate but after all the updates it was fine. They Charging cable is a usbc to usbc cable and has 2 ports. It also has a sim card and expandable storage. The glass touchscreen is very responsive and the mouse pad is very smooth. The keyboard has no flex to it, it types very nice. I did watch some movies on here and the sound quality is very impressive! The only thing I see as in issue with this laptop is if you do work outside a lot the screen has a huge glare to it. Other than that i Love this laptop. Samsung out did themselves with this!

Light in weight but nothing else, the Book S rocks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Galaxy Book S has delivered in every way so far. It is incredibly thin and light, coming in at just under two pounds. After charging as directed after unboxing, I did need to update some software and firmware, including the keyboard and Windows 10 (Home edition), which was no big deal and went seamlessly. The fingerprint sensor is very convenient and makes logging on quick and effortless. The display is crisp and bright, which is exactly what I would expect from Samsung. Loading pages and/or programs is fast, I don't think I have waited more than one or two seconds tops. Moreover, the AKG and Dolby Atmos speakers are nothing short of impressive, I was definitely not expecting such full and rich sound. Movies and videos sounded amazing and not muddled at full volume. Perhaps one of the most important things for me is battery life, and the Book S does not disappoint! I have not had to charge it once in the five days I had it. If I had to point out anything that I was not as happy about would be the keyboard backlighting, it is not very bright at all at the highest level. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints and will gladly recommend the Book S to friends and family without hesitation.

Keyboard back light very poor

love the laptop, but very unhappy with the keyboard back light. first it very dim to the point i thought it was not working. yes it is only visible in a totally dark room. second, it turn of randomly. i think it is because the light sensor is close to the screen and the brightness of the screen causes the back light to turn off. really disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked great... until it didn't.

my wife bought this computer for work. she's a teacher and uses this daily... the other day it just died. no power light, nothing. plugged it in for an hour and tried holding in the power button, then tried the power button along with volume up, and then power button with volume down... each time held it for a minute, while it was plugged in. very disappointed the warranty expired only after 6 months. will not buy samsung again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
