Samsung Galaxy Book S Is A Winner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Galaxy Book S fit my need as a business traveler for someone who is always on the move and a lite weight, high functioning fast laptop.
The Book S has a super slim design and weighs slightly more than 2 pounds, making it lightest laptop Ive owned to date and I almost forget it’s my backpack.
Love the connectivity: on the right side is a lone USB-C port, with another USB-C port and a headphone jack on the left side. Either port can be used to charge the laptop or for tasks like syncing your phone.
The keyboard is full size and satisfying to use. The keys are require very little pressure to activate, and pop back into place almost instantaneously.
Samsung did a remarkable job with the audio. It's loud, clear, and has perfect stereo separation and space. With Covid Im on Zoom calls all day and for conference calls, two microphones on the top deck also work very well.
Battery Life is WOW and where the Galaxy Book S shines. Galaxy Book S ranges between 15-20 hours, I am averaging just over 11 hours between charges. What a pleasure not to have to worry about charging when working remotely in an airport etc.
Love its ability to stay connected while consuming very little idle power. This means that the laptop is always up to date and can sit for days without needing to be recharged.
Security: is easy as the laptop’s power button doubles as a Windows Hello-enabled fingerprint sensor for authentication. I found the fingerprint sensor to be incredibly quick and accurate. The location of the button is handy—if you press the power button to bring the computer out of sleep and hold your finger a split second longer it will also log you in.
The screen and graphics quality is great and love the touch screen and use it throughout the day. When Im using it outside I still able see the screen and glare is minimal
Love this machine and highly recommend
I received this television at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

Perfect travel or work laptop!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing you'll be surprised by is exactly how thin and light this laptop is in person! It's the same thickness as my phone and weighs almost nothing!
The always on feature is awesome. The second you open the laptop, it's ready to go to work! The battery lasts days without a recharge. I used it for emails, web coding, watching Netflix, remotepc and remote desktop to connect to my work servers, all with zero issues or lag.
This is easily the ultimate travel and/or work laptop. Small form factor, light and portable, super fast charging and powerful enough to do everything you need. Love the auto sync feature with my phone, too! Take a pic and there it is on the laptop, without hooking up a cable or uploading to a shared drive.

Super-Thin, Super-Thin An Excellent Notebook

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Galaxy Book S is Samsung's most valuable laptop. The Galaxy Book S is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx chip. This is a chip manufactured on a 7nm process. Samsung says its CPU performance is 40% stronger, graphics performance is up 80%, and the memory bandwidth is higher than the Galaxy Book 2. Because the ARM chip is energy efficient, the machine does not need a cooling fan so it is thinner, no noise and especially longer battery life. Samsung Book S is quite light it's only 0,96 kg. However, unlike most ultrabooks today, the Galaxy Book S has a metal frame that is still very strong and sturdy. Galaxy Book S's keyboard has a shallow key stroke, but still gives a good typing experience. The trackpad is smooth and responsive.
Despite its relatively thin thickness, the Samsung Galaxy Book S still has 2 USB-C ports, a headphone jack and a microSD card slot, along with a capacity of 256 / 512GB SSD.
With Galaxy Book S, users' devices are more secure and protected. With Gigabit LTE connectivity, Galaxy Book S allows users to avoid unreliable public networks, ensuring that users' personal information will be risk-free when accessing the internet. Windows Hello provides the ability to instantly log in with users' fingerprints, ensuring quick and convenient access to their devices in a more personalized way.

Great laptop for personal use!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the features of this laptop. The solid state hard drive boot incredibly fast, and it is a breeze to use multiple apps at once. I love how sensitive the touch screen is, and how incredibly light the laptop is. It truly is remarkable. For my use in personal life, it's amazing, and I 100% recommend it.
As far as professional life, it is 100% non-compatible. The ARM-based processor is not compatible with the drivers required to run my applications, so I cannot review it from a professional prospective. I was deeply disappointed that it is incapable of working with newer x64 drivers. I do not recommend this computer for use if you require it to be compatible with drivers that are x64 based - it is not capable of running them, even though it is a 64 bit system.
That being said - I HIGHLY recommend the Samsung Galaxy Book S for personal use - I am actually thinking about buying my son his own - he loves mine!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All I can say is WOW! The Samsung Galaxy Book S is living up to the hype. It is ultra-thin and very light. The screen is bright, and the colors are brilliant. Keyboard feels good while typing and is very sufficient for computing. The back lighting makes working in dark areas easy. Memory out of the box is good and can be upgraded to 1TB by using a micro -SD card. The laptop has 2 usb-c ports that can be used to either charge the laptop or expand the functionality of the laptop. I added a usb-c multi-port which gave me the ability to use regular usb technology, add multiple screens, wireless mouse/ keyboard functionality and another SD card part. Playing music or any audio sounds great. The AKG speakers are clear and have plenty of volume. Wi-Fi connectivity is spot on and the signal is strong no matter where I am in the house. I have not tried the LTE connectivity, but I’m sure it will be just as strong.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Book S is a solid laptop with endless potential. It is very portable, light and has enough power to handle all your computing needs.

Poor excuse for a backlit keyboard
on January 21, 2021
Posted by: AtomicPunk
#1 the backlight is useless even in a completely dark room.
#2 the display goes blank for about 1-2 seconds randomly
#3 the usb c on the right side quit working at about 2 months old.
i can't afford to send it in and be without it for 2-3 weeks so i can only hope it keeps running until i can afford to replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Galaxy Book S Review (Intel Version)
on October 1, 2020
Posted by: Courtney
i opted for the intel instead of the qualcomm for two main reasons: not wanting to buy an additional phone plan for lte and wanting to avoid compatibility issues using an arm-based system.
performance on the laptop is good, but do keep in mind i'm speaking as a person who doesn't play games (at least not pc games) and someone who doesn't do any photo or video editing. if you're looking for a machine to do that you may need to look elsewhere, maybe at the flex. as far as everyday productivity tasks though this laptop can handle it with ease. i do my udemy courses on it, binge watch yt, browse social media, have the programs i use at work on it, etc. it's my everyday laptop.
my biggest gripes are the keyboard travel, no user upgradability, and port selections.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My new tech play

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The wow moment starts already when you actually get the device. It comes in a very handy box, super light and easy to install. The PC is super thin, and actually a pleasure to move around. The battery holds for over 3 hours (intensive work) and you recharged it back within 1 hour.

The USB-C cable is unique and I bought a separate connector to connect hdmi and other connections. So with the PC, and the extra extension and can walk in any meeting or connect with any device at home. My first intention was to buy this for my traveling, but this is actually now become my primary PC for all my inhouse work.

Only negative point is that the sim is linked to Verizon (maybe could be an open one as I am a Sprint client.

All in all, a really great device and it does more than the job. If you are planning to buy it, make sure you buy an additional connector for hdmi or usb ports, so you can plug-in more devices.
