Great battery life, does all of the things that I want it to. I mostly use the features for trail running and gps functionality. Sometimes the GPS can be a little slow to pick up my location, but that is probably mostly due to my impatience and forgetting until I'm 10 minutes into a route to remember to turn it on.

The watch is excellent everything is very accurate the only problem is when i switched from an android to an iphone the smart notifications don't work too well but it still serves its purpose i highly recommend it for all users

I've used Fitbit for years and got tired of having to charge up every 4 days. With the Instinct Solar if you just use it as watch and heart rate monitor you'll get over 25 days. GPS has done well on it.

Best watch in the planet!

This watch takes a beating and is perfect 3 years later! I love my Instinct. The battery life is crazy long, but I don't wear it to sleep in unless I am backpacking or camping. I can wear it for an entire month without charging. I did the RunStreak challenge last year and ran 1 mile a day from Memorial Day to the 4th of July. This watch helped me figure out my run patterns and make adjustments as a new runner. I could not have done it without my Instinct and the Garmin App!

Have had no problems with this product. I rarely have to charge it as the built in solar charger takes care of it. GPS mode works well as has been just as accurate as my friends more expensive watches.

The fitness tracker, perfected
on January 4, 2022

This is a no-nonsense fitness tracker. It is extremely rugged and can take abuse. It provides significantly more detailed data than an apple watch can give you, which makes it much more helpful in understanding your patterns of exercise. The solar version is particularly great because it extends the battery life dramatically.
One recommendation would be to do some research ahead of buying. This is a fitness tracker, not a smart watch--it is not compatible with applications from the Garmin connect store. If you were hoping to rely on an app from that marketplace, I'd suggest getting a Fenix watch.

Best watch for the outdoorsy/backcountry athlete

I've had this watch for about 6 months now, and have worn it almost every day. It's no Apple Watch in terms of connectivity, and I didn't want it to be- while you can read texts and email headers on the watch screen if you want, it's designed for an audience that values on-the-go adventure tracking readiness over phone connectivity. Battery life is excellent- I charge it about every other week, and I use it to track a couple hours of runs/rides each week. Screen is easy to read regardless of light conditions. The watch itself seems plenty rugged for anything you throw at it- I added a clear glass screen protector, but I doubt I needed it. The band seems like it could stretch/wear out/snap over time, particularly if you wear it tightly on your wrist, but I haven't actually had problems with it yet. Activity/fitness tracking is great, pulse ox seems to read a little low for clinical purposes but if you're just comparing to your normal baseline it's fine, and I love the ability to customize the display fields for activity tracking screens. Watch some youtube videos to learn about full functionality of this device, since it's pretty complicated to figure out on your own with the minimal directions found in the box.
