Garmin instinct solar

I'm a little disappointed with this watch! The solar feature charges the watch to 191 days of power but then it goes down to 80 days overnight. I have all of the features turned off as to save power.

I bought this watch due to it's solar assist recharge and helping me to get a handle on exercising. What I didn't realize is that it would moniker my sleep cycles,O2 SATS, heart rate and stress on my body from that exercising. I may not be able to talk through my wrist phone, but it answers my phone and follows emails. I like the other features that I have found so far very well.

Great Upgrade for Garmin!

Had the original which was not always accurate when it came to gps and HR. This new upgrade is fabulous! The new elevate HR is so much more accurate during workouts and my routes on runs are back to how they should be. Really like the pulse ox feature and the battery life is fantastic. Last charge provided 16 days and that included multiple gps uses, constant HR and lots of notifications. Watch has all the things I love. Only thing it lacks to be included in the full run category is VO2 max. But I didn’t buy it for that. OH! The solar is pretty awesome too! Haven’t had a chance to spend consistent hours out in the direct sunlight yet (too hot in Tennessee) but what I can tell so far is that it does seem to add some life to the charge even with moderate sun exposure. The watch is super tough through KB workouts and barbell workouts as well as lots of yard work etc. I HIGHLY recommend the watch!!

Great features

A couple of weeks with the solar instinct. I’m pretty happy with it. It’s withstood what I’ve put it through. I don’t feel I get a huge return in the solar charging but definitely battery is better than my 735. It’s not a classy looking watch but fits the bill very well for what I wanted. Much lighter than a previous suunto I had. The O2 sensor isnt very accurate but I didn’t expect it would be.

Coming from an Apple Watch where you’d have to charge every day to now with the garmin it’s 25 days. I do a lot of backcountry trips and love love the idea of looking down at wrist instead of looking at my handheld constantly. The data you get when you sync the watch up to your phone goes into great detail.

Great feature displays and love the battery life

I got the Instinct Solar to replace my Vivoactive 3. I have had the Instinct for a month now and I enjoy the various displays and even though it has more stats than I personally use it has got some for everyone's lifestyle and exercise programs. I really love the long battery life. With the Vivoactive I had to charge the watch every 4 days but the Instinct looks like it will be a once a month thing. I wish it had an analog watch face for the digital face is ok and can display everything I could want plus track things I haven't used yet but may soon, and those functions are there when I'm ready. Although I am not outside in the sun a lot the solar charging feature does help extent the battery life a surprising amount.

Love this watch. Only had it for a short amount of time but so far getting a really positive first impression. Very comfortable and intuitive to use. Setup was easy and it paired with my inreach mini. The connect app is fun to look at on my iPhone to review the data from each day. Looking forward to taking this watch on adventures!
