Love the solar charging and extended battery life

I received the watch as a gift and was able to give my Garmin 235 to my 80-year-old dad. I love the durability of my new Garmin Instinct Solar.

Keeps turning off

I bought my Instinct Solar 2 years and 2 months ago and it now keeps switching off. This makes the watch useless as I use it for training. When I set the timer it also keeps switching off. Worse still, when I reboot it, the time is wrong and I need to re-synch it with my phone. Unusable at the moment. I'd like to hear what Garmin have to say

NOT SURE IT IS WORTH THE MONEY

THE USER MANUAL INDICATING ON HOW TO USE THE VARIOUS FEATURES IS POORLY DONE. iN MANY INSTANCES IT LEAVES THE READER TO TRY TO DETERMINE WHICH BUTTON TO PUSH TO IN ORDER TO ACCEPT ANY SETTINGS ONE MIGHT CHOSE TO SET; EXAMPLE BEING WHO WOULD KNOW THAT THE GPS BUTTON WOULD BE THE "ACCEPT". ONE WOULD THINK "SET" SOULD BE THE NORMAL. SECOND I TRY TO SETUP AN ALTERNATE ACTIVITY TO USE WHEN I EXERCISE. i AM NOT SURE THAT IT ACCURATELY RECORDS THE ACTIVITY.

No way to learn how to use

The instructions are so poor that the only way to attempt to set is just start pushing buttons. Not intuitive like other trackers. Downloaded the manual, which you'd think would be free...it isn't. Still not helpful. For the money spent, common guys!

Looks great, battery lasts forever

I bought the Instinct solar to track my steps at work and when I walk the dog. I like the rugged looks and how long the battery lasts.

2nd garmin instinct love it

I really liked my first garmin instinct. I hike, run, swim and wanted a way to keep track of these things accurately. Then I misplaced my first watch. I had become very dependent on it. Waited 2 weeks bought this one on sale. The battery life is really long without the solar, the solar works automatically. The accuracy for many things seemed improved from first one. I was getting inaccurate heart rate spike warnings on my first not with the second. The ability to record easily weight lifting is greatly improved. Even things like texts are easier to get and read. Please remember I loved my first instinct so this is just more positive on top of the first experience. Years ago I had a forerunner. I have stayed with Garmin. I like the options but I also like that it doesn't have everything under the sun like apple watches. I want it for focusing on fitness. I do have an apple phone so it doesn't connect for calls. Which I also see as a plus. Still has live tracking so someone knows where I am when it is on. If there is ever a safety concern that is a good feature. Love it.
