Superb affordable Wristwatch

I am extremely happy to review this excellent watch. Sadly I'm far too ineloquent to do this clever watch justice. All I can say is that the fit and finish is exceptional, the strap is the most comfortable I have ever worn. The fast acquisition of the GPS, the incredible battery life, and so much more. Shakes hands immediately with all the bluetooth devices I have. I am enjoying getting to know the Instinct Solar. With the rich features this watch is a bargain.

Enjoying the Data

Brought the watch about two weeks ago and find the amount of data and app fantastic. Only one gripe when it was being advertised I saw it had a pre loaded activity for squash which I play regular. Sadly it doesn’t not one racquet based activity. Loading stats onto app for it to difficult as unsure how far I traveled how many calories burned and only option is tennis. Completely different if you have ever played both

The video on using navigation

The video on using navigation sounds simple enough, but it’s impossible to tell what buttons are being pressed to access those functions. It would be an awesome feature, I guess. Very aggravating

Instinct solar

Love this watch and the service I’ve had from Garmin has been second to none. I wouldn’t choose any other brand of sports watch. I would like to be able to set the imperial/metric individually for run, cycle @ swim and like the 910 have a quick release bike mount.

Horrible display!

First the watch itself looks good, anf the band is comfottable. However the display is horrible and hard to read. The lack of touch screen makes it difficult to navigate through the menu. Also no way to put steps on the main screen. I don't see a way to control the watch from an app either. This watch is too expensive for the lack of technology. I got it yesterday and will be returning it tomorrow.

Software issues continuously!

I bought this to replace my 3rd 645 music because the casing that holds the bands broke continually. Just cheaply made. I thought this would be more hardy. I am up to software version 17 and this watch constantly freezes when trying to save a work out. It will say the GPS is off (it’s not) when you try to save and just continues the loop- you have to plug it into garmin express to get it to break the loop. It’s a also big clunky watch - might have been better to keep replacing the 645 every 9 months.

The warranty is AMAZING

I bought my instinct solar watch about two years ago. I wore it for about a year and loved it! Until one day the battery got messed up so I put it in a drawer for about a year till I found it again. I reached out to see how to get the watch to last 30 days like normal instead of 2 days like it was lasting for. With all the quick help from garmin support, we couldn’t get it to work the way it should, I ended up sending it back for a refurbished one. Let me tell ya how presently surprised I was to get my watch back. I had to send back my old watch face but not the band or the charger. Less than a week went by and I got my “newly used” one today. They sent the watch, band, and charger! It truly looks like a brand new watch. Garmin truly stands behind their product and their customers. I couldn’t be happier!

Extremely slow battery charging

I bought a Garmin Instinct Solar one month ago and I noticed it was charging very slowly. I tried different chargers, both on the wall and on a pc via usb, nothing changes. It took 7 hours from around 20% to 100% charged. I find this behaviour rather disturbing as the watch should be able to regulate the charging speed. I wonder if the cables don't have great quality control. Can this issue be solved by a firmware update? I'd love to have it charge at 1% a minute.
