Great buy

I’ve had my instinct solar for a week now. It took a few days to learn the controls, but that’s normal for a complex watch. I’m very happy with it. I’m still learning how to operate a few things, overall it seems to be a very good product.

Im 65. I use a walker 100% of time. Watch doesn't work for someone in my condition. Inspite of my conditiin I want to stay active..

Just what I needed!

I bought the Garmin Solar Instinct a week ago and so far it is performing as advertised. So far it provides the features I need for my cycling rides. I am still learning how to operate the watch and look forward to using it for SUP this spring and summer.

Love this watch. Gave it 4 stars only because I learnt that solar charging is only subliminal charging option and not a real source of charging. There was a day when I put my watch on a very sunny day (100% intensity) and it increased my days to 86 days but working 3 days it came down to 55 days. It’s been 18 days since I have charged it via usb so it has an amazing battery life. The features are pretty good. I love this much better than the Apple Watch.

Solar powered tank

So, I used to have the original Garmin Instinct and loved it. I recently upgraded to the Garmin Solar and couldn’t be happier. Longer battery life, upgraded hardware ( 2nd Gen HR sensor/ SpO2 sensor) and even more precise GPS makes this smart watch hard to beat. Honestly, the only competition it has is with its own Fénix line. Despite the steep price; I think this is money well spent!

It's a good watch for certain people but not me.

Unfortunately this is not a good watch for me. The pixelated format is very hard for me to read especially at night. The back light is not that bright and it's very difficult to read the very, very small displays that come up around the time. I found it hard for myself to see anything but the time even with my glasses on. I really did not have time to remark on the other functions on this watch I only had it for one day sent it back to vendor. I might end up going with the venue instead.
