Keeps on ticking

One week in with my Instinct solar, battery life seems great. I’m learning more about it every day. Understanding the buttons operation is key, there is a lot of helpful information at Garmin. Great way to control your fitness goals.

Great product

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. So far I am very impressed with it. I did have to watch a video on youtube to figure some of it out. You don't get much for instructions with it.

Missing some essential technology

It just sounds ridiculous that you load a watch up with some technology, including solar charging.....but you don’t have wireless charging. Sounds like marketing is looking at Instinct 2 and 3. Thank God they didn’t figure out how to harness the speed of light. Flashlights would have started out with a beam that’s 1000th the speed of light and next year would be new and improved with 10% faster light beam. Also the battery is half the size it could comfortably be, and even with a cable and a Ravpower charger it takes so long to charge. Has they been harnessed for improvement to sell us a new watch. Did Apple lose a marketing guy to Garmin? In short
1. Charging is slow
2. Battery is half the size it could be
3. Does not wirelessly charge.
4. Opening for charging is not even a magnetic connection. Slotech much!

It is a SOLID built watch.

So far it's been good. I'm training for a 50 mile ultra marathon, so trail running is what I mainly use it for. I do MTB and road as well, so accurate distance and pace is my main concern. Measuring heart rate is a new thing to me, so getting comfortable with that feature too. Things I don't like about it are: 1. When battery is completely charged, it last 8 days. 2. The oximeter works 1 out of 5 times. Other than that the watch seems to hold, but I wouldn't take it on a month expedition without a power bank. I've had this watch for two weeks. Put 70 miles of running and about 100 miles of biking. Just a Weekend Warrior leaving it on the trail. =)

Better than galaxy watch

I had the watch few days after the Samsung galaxy watch stopped working. 1st, set up and pairing was super simple. 3 steps compared to galaxy watch .2nd, battery+ solar power is outstanding 24 days compared to 8 hrs for galaxy. Health /activity monitoring is more comprehensive and intuitive to tract on the connect app. 3rd , it is weather resistant. 4th, it is as light as the galaxy but much lighter than my casio g force

Bought this watch 3 days ago and I am blown away with all the things it can do, I even get the weather forecast. Best watch I have ever owned, great value for the cost.

not easy to set up

One thing I don't like about this watch is the inability to set features in the app. I would much prefer to use the app to select my power settings. Also, I set my sleep time and turned on the SPO2 monitoring and it worked the first two nights, and the third night the SPO2 monitoring decided not to work (I had not changed any settings on the watch). The menus are not exactly easy to navigate and selecting certain apps on the watch are difficult to get out of once you enter that app (I find I'm pressing multiple buttons, when back does work)
