Good Range..Power Boil is a Disappointment

We replaced our 19 year old Whirlpool range with this GE Profile range. Overall we like the looks, features and functions of this range. However one feature we are disappointed in is the 11 inch burners "Power Boil" function. As we make pasta regularly, we had been frustrated with how long it took to get water to a proper boil to cook pasta on our old range. We've read the details and specs, and expected to see faster boil times using the same pots we've been using with the Power Boil function. Unfortunately, that has not been the case, water is taking the same time to get to a proper boil. When we first discovered this, we talked about returning the range to where we purchased it, but the retailers 15% restock fee halted that.

It seems great. I wish the manual was available. I'm elderly & it would be a big help to have it on the counter while I'm learning. GE is no longer offering.

Had older GE Profile/ New model cooks food evenly. Love all the controls. Love steam cleaning feature. Love "lock controls" feature. Easy to clean.
