Love Hate Relationship

We like the looks and function of the stove, its a big change from our previous stove. It's easy to operate and well thought out. The part we do not like is the cooking top itself. It works great, and I guess it's saving us energy because we can select the heating diameter. That said, we have to always clean and remove scratches and spots. If we get anything (a drop of water) it leaves a spot. Most of the time it will not just wipe off when cleaning. We need to use a sponge and baking soda then carefully scrub that area. Good news is, it cleans up. NEVER, NEVER slid a pan or pot, (looks like scratched glass) it will take longer to clean. They even tell you what pots and pans to use on it because GE knows this surface cannot take any abrasion or a drop of water. GE engineers forgot about form, fit and function when choosing the top. Yes, we do use newer pots and pans (Le Creuset) however we are not throwing out all of our cookware because of this stove.
The above text is just my personal opinion and is to the best of my knowledge, true.

Response from geappliances.comBy Tierra@GEA, GE Appliances, August 22, 2023
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to connect. We're sorry to hear you're not pleased with your new appliance. Yes, this range will have to connect to wifi once to the air fry cooking mode and Convection Roast. After connecting once, you can disconnect from wifi if you desire and continue to the enhanced features such as Convection Roast and Air Fry.
Please let us know if there is anything we can assist with. We're always here and more than glad to help. - Tierra@GEA

Great and Beautiful Stainless Steel Electric Range

Fabulous! I like the glass top cooking surface. I have used gas cooking surfaces in the past, but prefer the smooth minimalist appearance of a clean glass top and is near to the speed of gas heat. The glass top is easy to clean, I also like the oven. The only item I would have wanted in the oven is a totally no preheating option, this oven preheating is limited to only air frying. I will not be using the WiFi option, I have way too many user names and passwords as it remains. I put a stainless steel panel on the wall behind the range that goes up to the range hood, it looks great that way!
I would recommend this to a friend!

It would be perfect except for one big thing.

Great stove except for one thing. The largest burner (front right) does not heat evenly at all. The center element of the front right burner is MUCH hotter than the other two elements. It causes the food in the middle of the pan to burn, and it has warped our expensive MadeIn cookware.
We called GE and they sent out a technician. The tech said that's all these ranges are and replacing the element wouldn't help.
If the large triple element burner had even heat, I would give a five star rating. It would be a near perfect appliance. The oven is awesome. The touch controls are great and easy to clean. It has silent operation because it's not induction.

Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so sorry to hear that this range hasn't fully lived up to your expectations due to the heating of the right front burner becoming too hot. This is definitely not the consumer experience that we strive for with this range. As we continue to make improvements to our appliances, your feedback is extremely important to us. We will pass this along to our product team to review.
We are honored that you chose GE Appliances for your home, and we hope you enjoy your beautiful new range for many years to come. Happy cooking! - Adrian@GEAppliances

Have had the range for a week now and really enjoy it! Had an older model that was I. The house when I moved in, expect it was 15yrs+ in age. I can tell the difference in the cook top...seems quicker and more even! A huge lasagna was the 1st dish baked in the oven and it cooked evenly and my guests raved over it! Next, I used "air fry" function for hot wings...can't wait for Super Bowl! Am ready to try some baking of banana bread, am sure it will be the best ever!

Profile Range quality has gone down; range racks no longer coated and no slide out rack. Display is hard to read as it is dot matrix.

Not excited but it works

Not impressed with air fryer. The standalone models do better. Oven racks tarnished within month of purchase. Have to use control lock to avoid accidentally turning on burners. Steam clean is useless. Burners heat up quickly as does oven preheat. Stove top cleans easily. Oven heats evenly.

We are happy to hear that you are happy with how quickly the burners and oven preheat, how easy the stovetop is to clean, and that the oven heats evenly.
We appreciate hearing the pros and cons you have when it comes to your appliance, and we hope that the Air Fry feature grows on you over time. If you should ever have any concerns regarding the function or how to properly care for your appliance, you can access the Use & Care manual on our website at the link below: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--9k76C2ny--/ebc8aa0bbe545c2c7d4c36933d1081eed9ef3d98.pdf?_ga=2.238293829.473764053.1709563193-1100713441.1674245189&_gl=1*3zfsf0*_ga*MTEwMDcxMzQ0MS4xNjc0MjQ1MTg5*_ga_1JLE3BZ79Y*MTcwOTU3NjYwOS45MjguMC4xNzA5NTc2NjExLjAuMC4w
It is important that you follow the recommendations for oven rack maintenance and lubrication outlined in the owner's manual. Use vegetable oil only for rack lubrication. Make sure to avoid the use of peanut oil as well as walnut oil, as they can leave a grainy red/rust look on the racks and cavity ribs. For other information on caring for your oven racks, please refer to page 22 of the owner's manual at the link above.

Good performer with one major flaw

I would love to love this range. It cooks well and has the burner layout I was looking for. Unfortunately, the burner controls are way too sensitive and can easily be turned on accidentally. Boiling water splashed out of a pot and turned the burner off in one instance. In another, spraying stovetop cleaner on the control panel turned a burner on. I now lock the stovetop as soon as I am done using it.
