Glass will not clean unless you use the cream after washing with a sponge first, takes too long. The control panel will not lock to make cleaning easier. Only has steam clean and that is definitely not enough

It’s understandable to be frustrated when you can’t get your appliances clean and we’d like to share some troubleshooting tips that will help.
The good news is that your range does offer a “Lock Controls” function so that pressing the pads does not activate the controls during cleaning. Simply press and hold the “Lock Controls” pad, for three seconds to lock or unlock the control. “Cancel/Off” is always active, even when the control is locked.
The Steam Clean option helps hydrate food soils so that they are easier to wipe away. The soil can then be wiped off the oven interior and racks using a cloth dampened with warm, soapy water. To remove any remaining stubborn, baked-on stains, apply a non-abrasive cleaner such as Bar Keepers Friend using a sponge or clean cloth.

Don't fall for the usage of the word slide in!

Not a true slide in. All GE "slideins" are stand alone that sit between cabinets

We are more than happy to provide guidance. Our slide in ranges are designed to fit into a free-standing range cut-out opening. These slide-in ranges have finished sides, so they do not need a side body panel kit.

Control lock problem

I loved the look of this oven and I always wanted front controls. Unfortunately after I had it for 2 -3 months someone had placed a cutting board, a box of cereal and a loaf of bread on the glass top. I wasn't worried as the control lock was on. 3-4 hours after dinner, I smelled smoke, my kitchen was on fire. I was thankful we had a fire extinguisher. The fire was small but did a good bit of damage to the glass top, my microwave bottom melted, the wall behind the oven burned and the entire kitchen was covered in smoke. We thought one of us maybe forgot to set the lock....until it happened again. I have three cats that won't stay off my kitchen counters. On two other occasions by sitting on the stove in just the right place for 3 seconds, off goes the lock, they take a step or two and turn on the burners. I am now petrified that while we sleep at night it will happen again. I looked hoping to find a way to lengthen the amount of time it takes to turn the lock on and off...I can't find one. I would love this oven and give it 5 stars if I didn't think it may burn my home down or seriously injure one of my cats.

The Lock Controls feature will lock out the controls for the oven when engaged. It doesn't affect the operation of the surface burners. We want to help out with the burners being slow to heat and provide some cleaning tips for the cooktop. We recommend trying a quick electronic reset to help with the burners and slow heating. This can be done by removing the power cord for 2-3 minutes then plugging it back in. You can also shut the power off at the breaker for the same amount of time. Very Disappointed

Spent a lot of money on this and hate it terribly! Whenever u leave over the front edge burners can come on . Definitely not good idea to just have the glass with touchscreen as when things splatter it’s always dirty. Very dissatisfied with our purchase.
