No longer a faithful GE Profile customer.

What a disappointment, especially at this price! I've had a GE Profile stove for the past 22 years and have NEVER had a single problem with it. Yes, back then, they had turn knobs, with heating elements, and self-cleaning ovens. This one DOES NOT bring water to a boil, is difficult to clean the stovetop, does not have self-cleaning oven, no physical manual for reference, air-fryer won't work unless its hooked up to wi-fi (seriously? just absurd!) -- very inconvenient, and the buttons on the top front of the unit are VERY annoying. Having to hold a button for 3 seconds to lock your controls is also a ridiculous feature! Give me a good old fashioned ON/OFF "turn-knob" with a burner that will heat until the water boils. The digital TIME indicator has numbers that are too close together and difficult to read. I can't stand this stove/oven!

Greetings! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We are extremely sorry to hear that this range has not lived up to your expectations when it comes to the features and heating elements. This is in no way the consumer experience that we strive for, and we are deeply apologetic about your experience. We will be sure to share this feedback with our product design teams so they can make the necessary improvements. We do however recommend scheduling service with one of our certified technicians to get your cooktop diagnosed, as this range should be able to quickly boil water.

You can schedule an appointment with a GE Appliances technician by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

We are honored to have you as a part of the GE Appliances family, and we hope to gain your trust back with our appliances. - Adrian@GEA

Works great.....but wouldn't buy again

First of all, I would say that I love how this oven and stovetop cook. Many great features that I enjoy. It looks very nice in our kitchen and shines up nicely with Norwex cleaning paste and Norwex window cloths. I did have to get past the fact that the stovetop was black and every grain of salt showed up on the stovetop.....but I have come to enjoy wiping it down and shining it up!
The con, and for me it would be a deal breaker if I had to do it all over again, is the sensitive controls. When purchasing, the selling point was that you didn't have to reach over your pots to adjust nobs, and that there is a control lock to protect children from reaching up and turning on. Both true statements. Problem....even when in use, it is so easy to inadvertently turn things on and off and adjust temps without even using your fingers. My stovetop is an extension of my countertop. I will often have a cookbook or food prep items on the stovetop while the oven is being used and stovetop is not. I could lock my controls....but locking your controls turns everything off. If you have a pot boiling in the rear and you want to lock your controls so you can't accidently turn on other burners or you are baking something in the oven.....locking controls turns everything off....no oven, no stovetop, no timer when locked. You can't use the control lock just to prevent inadvertent changes....control lock is only for "I'm done in the kitchen and checking out". The controls are so sensitive, that my leaning over the panel can turn burners on and off or adjust temperatures. I was boiling rice and as it was boiling hard and splashing, I turned the temp down to very low.....twice, a splash of water escaped the pot, landed on the temp control and turned the temp back up to high. I was able to replicate this with drips of water from my faucet for my husband. I have been using the stove for 7 months and thought I would be able to get more comfortable with the touch controls, but I have only become more frustrated with its sensitivity.

Hello there - Thank so very much for the review. This one is extremely helpful and detailed. We appreciate you taking the time to share.

We are glad you are enjoying the cooking performance and appearance. It is really good to know what we are doing well in that regard. However, we are definitely sorry to hear about the sensitivity of the controls, we can understand how much of a hassle this can be.

We're going to take the knowledge and feedback you provided and send it over to our product team to review, this way we can make sure that going forward we make a better effort in the control systems. Also, the point about the lock controls is extremely helpful, we agree that it shouldn't turn everything off.

Thank you again for the review. Stay safe out there.

Bad self cleaning feature

Really bad self steam cleaning . Only get 110 and the water stay in the center of the oven no heat enough to clean. Be prepared to scrub the oven. I have lower back problems and surgery and I have to be in my knees to scrub and clean this stove. I hate it . I wish I can return this piece of garbage. Also peeling the top.

Pro features I really like but with Cons
on July 24, 2020

PROs: turn on/off feature (safety) when finished using stovetop or oven; oven bottom "floor" has no open parts (so no spills go in); has a warmer on stovetop (extra) but have not used it yet; ease of use with good looking style.
CONs: bit pricey because cleaning is tedious; timer sound is so soft, very hard to hear so it's useless; touch sensor kicks in & chimes just by leaning as body hits the control panel; instruction pamphlet good and simple but absolutely no mention of using "air frying" (may have info on website); very very hard to clean stovetop (not easy to make "glass" clear & the sample cleaner doesn't help any); first overspill from boiling noodles got stovetop burning the spill and now it's charred onto the "glass" & won't come off and looks like stove is several years old and not new like it is; wonder if this is some new "glass stovetop" as it is not like cleaning glass with Windex; bit slower to get stovetop heated (compared to similar previous 80s stove that came with house).

Beautiful BUT.....High Maintenance

I love the way this range cooks and looks. The oven is also fantastic. My biggest issue is that the cooktop is very difficult to clean. I cook everyday, and I have to constantly scrape off food. The cooktop is very delicate and you must be very careful cleaning it. Gone are the days of just wiping down the cooktop. Hello 15 minutes of cleaning. It’s a daily chore I do not enjoy.

Probably a nice oven, but mine doesn't work

Hasn't worked right since the day it was installed. At first the screen didn't work, and I had to trip the breaker to turn it off. A part was replaced, and now the screen works, but nothing else does.

I hate this range
on September 30, 2022

We bought this range to match our GE profile refrigerator. The black top and front shows every drop, fingerprint, and smudge. Unless you can cook without a spill, drop or smudge, you will be cleaning this range every day. You will need to lock the controls just to clean the front. They could have done a better job with design. We will take the hit and sell.
