I was super exited to get the machine for the built in scanner to use for cutting small doll patterns. I am still trying to learn how to scan the pattern parts so they cut cleanly. My only disappointment is that the accessories are not available for sale even on the internet. I need the thin fabric blade and the fabric cutting mat

With some tweaking works great

I am one of the many DX users that had mat loading issues right from the start. I have figured out a way to force the mat to load correctly without it pulling to one side. The machine is a dream to use. It works great on vinyl and paper, and is very quiet. Hopefully Brother will come up with a fix for the mat loading issues.

So many problems

I am on my second SDX125 and I may be sending this one back also. Occasionally having mat loading problems, different parts of the mat cut differently. Now it has started cutting things twice all on its own. When this machine works as it should, it is great. The mats are another issue that needs to be resolved by Brother.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using my brother scanNcut DX for about a month now and I absolutely love it! At first it all looked like it might be very hard but I followed the directions in the book and made the test project first it was super easy. Since then I've made things for my daughter's project and class party. The screen is super easy to navigate, it's preloaded with a lot of really cute designs and it's easy to Bluetooth something to it that you want to cut out. The mat that comes with it can hold a lot of different materials but some material will require you to purchase a different mat but it's totally worth it. I'm loving my brother scanNcut DX and so will you!

Crafting made simple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love that you do not need a computer to craft! The machine makes making crafts easy. I love that that the machine test and sets its cutting strengthen, it is so quite. The instructions are pretty straight forward, the sample that came with the machine made a cute little box in less then 3 minutes perfect for the holidays. Did I mention you do not have to have a computer for the system, I am so excited about that.
