[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest review. At first it seemed a little intimidating because the app is a little confusing! Otherwise the machine itself is awesome and it allows you to scan your own designs. It has tons of built in designs as well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother to try and give my honest opinion and feedback from TryIt! It is a Brother SDX125e scan and cut device! It’s really neat and easy to use! Love that it’s easy to program and you can watch it as it works. So excited to make all types of crafts now! A must have!!
Based on the reviews it seems to be Brothers hasn't fixed their issue. Yes, the technology and software is nice however the mat load issues are very frustrating. I've had issues with the mat the came with the machine and the new Brothers mat I purchased online. I honestly wish I hadn't purchased this machine. Brothers please fix your problem!!!

Love the scan feature and the quietness of the machine. It cuts really good however the mat is not good. It loses its tackiness within the 2nd use and because of that, whatever your cutting will move around or not stay put esp for those smaller areas or pieces. Even when I tape it to the mat, the inner parts will not cut right because only the outside part is taped down. You cannot use other mats, it has to be brother brand but the cost for 1 mat is like $20 and up for a 2-3 time use. Everything else is good but if you cant even cut correctly because of the mat then there is no point. Unless you can fork out $20 every 2-3 cut, its not worth it.

Hi, we understand you are experiencing an issue with the mat loosing it stickiness with the Brother SDX125E and we can understand your frustration. We'd like to help. The mat can be cleaned using baby wipes to retain its stickiness. When the mat is not in use, clean it, make sure it is dry and store it with the protective sheet affixed. I wish I had bought the Maker. Waste of money. Can't get mats to load. Mats are too expensive. If they get a wrinkle - useless.

Opened the box, took everything out & made the blue box. Easy as pie. I'm a greeting card maker & it works so well for me & is very quiet, unlike the CM650W I had before. No more fussing with settings. I tell it what I want to do & it says what adjustments to make & off we go.
I did get a dud at first but was able to swap it out easily and the new machine has behaved nicely with no problems. I haven’t had any mat problems but I’m glad to know that if the mat mine came with ends up being one of the bad mats Brother will replace it. I have cut only card stock, and while I think Brother seriously needs to improve their mats, the scanning and cutting of the machine has worked very well. It’s not quite as accurate as another machine I have and love but that one doesn’t scan, so it’s really an apples to oranges comparison. I have the non-“e” SDX125 and really have been quite happy with it for the past two months since I got it. Getting to know the machine really helps—I thought there was a major accuracy problem at first but turns out, It was just the smoothing feature, which unfortunately defaults to on every single time. I really really wish it were easier to tell the machine to ignore lines to keep it from cutting out parts of my stamped images that shouldn’t be cut out, and I wish it were easier to get it to cut out, say, the middle of a donut, but those are software issues I hope they will address soon. I don’t consider those machine issues. All in all, I’m really glad I was able to get the machine and it has been super fun to use, but there are definitely areas it needs improvement, mostly in software ability. I’m banking on getting some great software updates that really help, and then I will spread the word to my crafting buddies! Also, I am EXPECTING Brother to continue supporting the non-e version, SDX125, even though that model is technically discontinued now. If they don’t, they will have a hoard of angry crafters on their hands!
I am really enjoying my new toy. So many new things to do with it. It was my first choice, but glad i went through four other cutting machines before i could finally get this one. Very quiet, no blade settings to do, scan in most anything u can put on paper and sooo much more. And this machine makes third party software usable. Hooray for me. I can use CanvasWorks online or on my Mac also. Files, save to flash drive and plug in to machine to use. Just too much to put here in a review. Loooooove all its features.
