So cool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is so cool and fun to watch work! So far I have only made the test product that came with it but it was really cool and easy. I wish it came with a book of sample projects and more card stock, but it did come w a few codes that you can use for projects. I'm excited to make some stickers once I get more of the hang of it.

Great Brand, Great Product!

I have always wanted to try and make some of the vinyl decorated products that I’ve seen so many people making! I was super excited to receive the Brother Scan N Cut. The difference between this product and others is that you’re able to scan your own art and cut/draw it. This is quite possibly my favorite part because it allows you to make everything a little more personalized. For my first project I made my kids names. It was easy to do with the little touch screen display and it took no more than 3 minutes to make. I chose a different font for each of their names which I thought was super fun! I was also able to save this design to the product itself to use later, love that! I would say the only two things that I didn’t love is that it’s a little louder than I anticipated (no louder than a printer) and that the accessories are more expensive than competitor brands. Overall, I would say it is better quality than most competitors and I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to use it! I would certainly recommend to anyone who loves to scrap book, make their own cards, or would like to make vinyl projects like myself! Can’t wait to share my projects with all my friends and family!

Best cutting machine out there.

It literally can and was used within a few minutes after opening it. It comes with all the tools and equipment you need to get started. While you can use a computer and be connected to the internet it isn’t necessary to be able to use it. As a matter of fact in the past few weeks of using it, I’ve only connected it to my laptop once. It has so many patterns already installed that can be used for tons of crafting projects.
I will say my ultimate favorite thing about the scanNcut is it sure has slashed my fabric cutting time in half if not more. Now I can just scan sewing patterns and have the machine cut the fabric in just a couple minutes. I can cut the same pattern multiple times to make a lot of the same project.
Within just the first week of using it I used it for many projects from sewing to bullet journal. I use my ScanNCut to scan my own art, stamp images, magazine pages, and just about anything with an image on it to make unique patterns or just to cut them out to use for scrap-booking or bullet journaling. I’ve used many of the cutting machines on the market and hands down this is the best one. It’s the easiest to set up and use straight-away without the need for a device, programs, or internet.
Pros:
-Precise cuts and drawing
-The touch screen is easy to navigate and use.
-It can scan pretty much everything
-It’s really quiet
-Preinstalled patterns are wonderful
-Can cut most crafting materials up to 3mm
-You don’t need a computer or be online to operate it
-Storage is built in and holds all the accessories minus mats
-Comes with extra CanvasWorkspace collections
Cons:
-It requires a big work space
-You can only get addition or replacement accessories online (in my area)

Endless Possibilities!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I admit, I've always wanted one of these bad boys! This ScanNCut is so awesome! It literally has everything you need to have a ball with, and I intend on going hog wild. I've been wanting a particular stencil for a garden craft I'm working on, but couldn't find it - well, now I'll make it come spring! This baby has 682 patterns with it and I've only gotten through a quarter of them, but they don't stop with just that. One of the coolest things about this machine is that I can draw anything I can imagine and simply scan it in, or upload it via the usb or wireless connection, and, BOOM! I have my own unique pattern! It's so awesome, I am completely smitten with this machine :) Trust me, you want this cutter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wanting a machine to make my own vinyl for awhile now and I couldn't be happier with this one. I was a little intimidated at first but the instructions were very easy to follow and I had everything set up in 5-10 minutes. I made a dinosaur first just to test it out and it was so easy to do. The second one I made my daughters name to put on her water bottle. It turned out perfect, was easy to detach thank to the handy tools included and my daughter was thrilled! The hardest part that I dislike is having to attach the vinyl to the sticky mat just right, it was even worse having to detach as the cutout stuck to it. I've only used it twice so far but I feel fully confident in how to do it now and am so excited to use it for all of my different projects.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been wanting some type of die cut machine for my crafts and now that I have this, I can't wait for the next time I use it!! I can't draw to save my life but this comes with enclosed built-in patterns that can be used to make beautiful crafts!! There's many different materials that can be used like paper, fabric, foam etc. With built in storage for your tools and blades & wide flat work space, you'll be having fun in no time making different crafts for you and your loved ones!!

All I can say is wow! I am absolutely in love with this machine! I will admit that I suffered a severe case of nerves and felt overwhelemed when I first opened the box. However, I sucked it up and got on with it, lol.
First it comes very well packaged. Everything you need to get started is included. Set up was easy and I was plugged in and connected to my wifi within minutes. Setting it up was simple using the lcd screen. The machine is solid but not super heavy. I was able to get the Brother Canvas Workspace program both on my computer and online so I could work on my phone if I want to. I followed the directions in the booklet to make my first folding project but had no idea that a pen had been included so in all honesty I skipped the drawing part. I did find that there was a pen included though. When you get your machine opened and unwrapped, be sure to check both storage drawers. There's a little white pouch with utensils in the right hand side one and the pen thingy is on the left. The only thing I didn't really like is that there's no owner's manual. It comes with quick reference guides and instructions to get started, but no owner's manual. There is a website where you could download it, but I'd much rather have it in my hand.
The machine comes with one sheet of card stock type paper so you will need to purchase vinyl, paper or heat transfer vinyl to make other things. It also comes with a tacky mat to hold the paper/vinyl for cutting/drawing. There is a protective cover on the mat but don't discard it when you remove it because you can reuse it to protect the tackiness of the mat when you aren't using it. Be forewarned though. When I pulled the protective covering off for the first time there was this awful chemical odor emenating from the mat. You know, sort of like the smell of a Sharpie but stronger! It has diminished over the 24 hours since I first pulled the cover off. Make sure there's nothing behind your machine because the mat flows front to back while cutting/drawing. You won't be able to put this right up near a wall because you'll need some clearance.
The mat fed very easily into the machine and the lcd screen led me through the settings I needed as well as following along in the booklet that came with the machine. It was practically silent while it was cutting and the lcd screen told me how long it would take to get finished. The paper came off the mat and I was able to fold my project quickly and easily.
I love the idea of being able to scan something into the machine for drawing or cutting. I found that if I had a smaller piece of vinyl, I could put it on the mat and scan it into the machine. Then, using the lcd screen, I could manipulate what it was that I wanted to cut to be sure it was able to fit on the smaller piece of vinyl. Amazing!
I will say that there is a bit of a learning curve. But the machine and the software make it fairly easy. I was able to put words on my coffee maker and create t-shirts on my very first day with the machine! And I have had ZERO experience with any sort of other vinyl cutting machines. There are also TONS of how to videos on the internet. I swear we could all get lost in a sea of "how do I do......" tutorials. But mostly, it's the trial and error that we will all experience that will teach us how to truly use this fabulous machine.
Overall, I'm super glad to have this machine. I can't wait to explore all it can do. I've already ordered more vinyl because my husband is already asking me to make him decals for his rc cars. Pictures of my first few projects are attached. Good luck in the vinyl cutting world!
