Definitely not for 3 year olds. No real directions for assembly. Only pictures with a legend. Tracks need better engineering to stay together. Very little pressure to knock the whole thing down.

Nice railway set

We bought this for our 4 yr old grandson who loves trains. The set is well made but it took us nearly 30 minutes to set up one of the suggested patterns. There's no way our grandson will be able to do it himself. Once it was built it was pretty unstable as the blocks holding up the bridge and curves and such get knocked over easily. Our grandson loves it but I can see some frustrations ahead when the tracks won't stay together or get knocked over as he's playing. We actually discussed choosing a pattern and gluing the whole thing together lol! Over all I think it's a good purchase.

My nephew was looking forward to this but the track does not stay together he slightest nudge and the whole thing comes down in seconds like dominoes after taking ages to put together leading to crying children of course...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not sure if it is designed well for the kids to play as it falls apart at the slightest touch. I am very disappointed.

The trains wheels on the engine 241 are two close together and won't roll on tracks. Disappointing for cost I paid for them
