Nice but doesn't stay together

The pieces are made nicely but don't stay together. Kids enjoy playing with this set in the to store because it's usually glue together. This is the only way to play with this set. If you don't glue it together the tracks fall apart. This is very frustrating for a 3yr old and makes them lose interest quickly. It's too expensive a set for this to be the case.

Love it! But better yet my 21 month old grandson loves it! He was introduced to it at a library with a play area for toddlers six months ago.

Santa brought this gift for Christmas 2010! Our two girls have had endless fun with creating tracks. We started off using the examples provided, and now we love to do our own. The Melissa and Doug train set provides hours of endless fun for our entire family. What a great way to use imagination and let the television and computer take a break!!! This toy was well worth the price. Who'd have thought that girls would LOVE trains?!? We are so glad we made this purchase!

This was the best present ever last Christmas for our children aged 2-4. They play with it for hours and just don't want to stop. I have known these train sets from my youth and I played with it for many many years. Can't get a better cost benefit than that! No other toy compares in versatility and cost effectiveness. I know these sets from Europe where "Brio" was the best known manufacturer. They just went bankrupt due to the financial crises. Go get one of these sets, you will not regret the hours and years that your kids (and their friends!) will play with them.
Pros: Durable, Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Great Value, Interactive, Realistic

Our son (and I'm sure soon our daughter) loves trains and always loves playing with the train sets set up in the toy stores in town. However, the cost of the officially licensed trains that go with a certain famous, talking train have always prevented us from being able to get him a set of his own. We were delighted, though, when we found this Melissa and Doug set that contains an enormous number of cars, track pieces, and other interesting goodies at what is about a fourth the cost of the other sets for the same number and types of pieces. The quality is great, the options for track layout creativity are endless, and all the little goodies like bridges and cranes make for a very wonderful playing and learning experience. I love the all wood construction and the large variety of track pieces included. No toy has ever entertained our kids for so long. I just love watching him play with the cars, cranes, and track- you can really see the little cogs turing in his head. A wonderful toy for creativity and imagination and a first rate product all around.

Over the past 2 plus years, I have enjoyed many hours playing "trains" with my now 4 year-old grandson. He has now taken over the role of head track builder and moves the trains along creative designs of track and bridges. He and Grandpa sure enjoy our time together! Got the word from him that "we make a great team Grandpa." The high-five with it was priceless! Spending time with kids is also priceless. Great toy!
