Perfect for travel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little steamer packs a big punch! Since I am very familiar with, and highly rate, the CHI brand hair styling products, I trusted this to be a good product as well. I have a couple other handheld
steamers, but they don’t have this vertical design. I do, however, like that this design is more like a wand. It makes it simple to use and reduce a chance of getting a steam burn.
The reservoir is small, but ideal for a shirt or two, roughly 5 minutes. Therefore, if you want to steam iron a load of laundry, you’ll be filling the reservoir often. This is what makes this ideal for traveling. It a slim fit for any suitcase and is perfect to release a few wrinkles before heading out.
Overall, for me, I feel this is ideal travel and not so much for home use, unless I need to release a quick wrinkle or two.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not much for ironing and to be honest I cannot remember the last time I used an iron. Insert the Hamilton Beach CHI Garment steamer, it's life changing! It is extremely easy to use and leaves your clothes crease-free. I was able to steam a button down shirt and a dress that is never wrinkle-free. After using this product I was able to wear the dress without wrinkles for the first time! I would definitely recommend this product!

Good, Portable, Well-Made Steamer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good, portable, well-made steamer... solid in the hand, stylish (although I would've preferred chrome vs. gold trim, and easy to hold. The reservoir is easy to fill, holds quite a bit of water, and doesn't leak. The steamer heats quick (30 seconds or fewer) and shoots strong jets of steam. The cord is a generous length. And, it comes with a nice storage bag for travel and protection. Here's the thing with portable steamers... you need to go into portable steaming with realistic expectations. Different fabrics require longer or shorter steaming times. Previously ironed clothes, which now have only a few wrinkles due to travel or wear, will require less steaming (again depending on the fabric and degree of wrinkles). FWIW, the image of my wife's shirt attached is a linen shirt not previously ironed. I attached one with no steaming at all and one showing a steamed and un-steamed side. The steamed/un-steamed image shows how well the CHI did, for a portable steamer, when used on un-ironed linen... no easy task. The shirt would still need ironed first and then wrinkles released as needed. With all the above in mind, I'd recommend the CHI steamer for on-the-go steaming needs... or general, light steaming... assuming you're using it in the right situations, that is for post-iron clean-up and/or steaming on easy-to-release wrinkled fabrics. Either way, the CHI's a winner.

Good Steamer for On the Go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The CHI Handheld Garment Steamer is overall a really nice steamer. When I used it for the first time, it heated up in about 30 seconds, as stated in the instructions. I steamed 2 long sleeve sheets and it lasted for about 6 minutes of continuous steam (instructions said 5 minutes so this was a plus) before starting to make a continuous clicking noise. At first, I wasn't sure what this noise was. I assumed it had to do with the water being low. So I unplugged it, filled up the water reservoir, and plugged it back in. Clicking stopped. It heated up in less than 15 seconds. It does great on regular wrinkles. For deep wrinkles, it was having some trouble getting those out. It would be nice to have an On or Off button, instead of holding down the Steam button the entire time especially if steaming multiple garments and you have to fill up the water reservoir more than once.
Pros:
1) Heats up quickly.
2) Steams in any direction.
3) Lightweight, sleek design.
4) Great for travel. A travel bag is included.

1) Water Reservoir: it can be viewed on the sides of the steamer but it can be difficult to see where the water is. I also had some trouble filling up the Water Reservoir trying to determine if the water was at the Max Line. It wasn't the easiest to view and I have pretty good vision.
2) Not great at getting out deep wrinkles.
3) Steam button must be held down manually for continuous steaming.

Perfect little steamer

It's designed to fit very comfortably on my hand and has a nice sleek design. It's also perfect to fit in your bag and take when traveling.

In fact, I sold my nice iron last year and have been attempting to unwrinkle by steam while I take a hot shower or by using my dryer with a damp washcloth thrown in. Both ways either fail pretty miserably and/or takes a long time to work...not very well. Occasionally, I spend too much on dry
cleaning. I've wanted to try a steamer but they seemed too bulky and awkward to use. I'm happy to report that this lightweight, handheld garment steamer actually works! Fill the reservoir with cold water, plug in the steamer and it is ready to use in about 30 seconds. It takes filling the reservoir twice and about 5 minutes to make a quite wrinkly long sleeve dress shirt wearable. This product will be fabulous to take on trips and vacations without having to attempt to pack incredibly carefully in order to minimize wrinkles in clothing. 4 out of 5 stars because the clothing does not come out looking freshly pressed. But, it does make the clothes wearable (without embarrassment and not feeling frumpy) and it is so easy to use. I am actually looking forward to using the steamer as needs arise.

This product has an extremely well thought out design. It is small enough to be particularly useful for travel, yet mighty enough to get the job done. I enjoy the fact that the power cord is long. It makes it so that I don’t have to plan around an outlet. It takes barely no time from the time plugged in to the time it is available for use which is super nice not having a lag time. The water resorvior is small, however, easy to fill. The design allows the steamer to truly acclimate to your hand therefore the movements to steam are easy and flow. Overall the steam provided by the steamer is great. It can firm out even the most crinkled items. We are so excited to have something so convenient to help us manage a task we do daily.
