The size, the brilliant display, and the 2-in-1 flexibility are exactly what I wanted and needed.
I bought the 2-in-1, as opposed to an ordinary laptop, to have a variety of options in fighting the infuriating modern touchpad. This Envy computer is already better than most: I can shut down all multi-finger gestures, leaving right click in a specific spot. But left click is still anywhere on the pad. That means that any time that any part of my hand grazes the pad, it's a left click. INFURIATING!
I tried the many workarounds possible with the Envy, and finally decided that I'd only ever be reasonably happy with a trackball mouse. It kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop, but it's the best I can do in 2020.

PLEASE, PLEASE consider including a fully customizable touchpad in your future laptops. Thousands, maybe millions, will cheer.

I wanted to get a faster, lighter laptop with a touchscreen for drawing and this fit the bill. I did quite a bit of research to narrow things down and got the customized build with the 400 nits screen, Ryzen 4700U CPU with 16 GB of RAM.
Everything works as expected. It's visually striking in the ceramic white color. The design is very eye-catching.
Unfortunately, HP puts a lot of unnecessary software on the machine that I've removed, such as McAfee antivirus (which takes up quite a bit of drive space), Bookings, Netflix and multiple Xbox related software.
There are only 2 USB ports (USB-C and USB-A) so you might need a few adapters if you need multiple devices connected at once. There is no Ethernet port, so I picked up the HP USB-C to RJ45 Adapter just in case wifi stops working. I also got the USB Type-C to HDMI dongle to plug into an external monitor.
I also customized the wifi to get the more future-proof Wi-Fi 6 AX 200 adapter. There is very little lag using the Internet and I'm noticing much faster transfer times when moving large files to my Synology NAS storage unit, going from about 15 MB/s to 50 MB/s.
The touchpad and keyboard are both responsive and have good "feel" for lack of a better word.
The laptop screen is bright and has a wide color gamut, which is great for people who want to make artwork or do photo or video editing.
I also have the Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen. It works very well with the Microsoft Whiteboard app and a few others I've tried, such as Adobe Fresco and Autodesk Sketchbook. It's quite remarkable stylus technology that "just works" and doesn't require any configuring with Bluetooth or some other wireless protocol. The laptop has a nice feature with magnetic mounts, so the pen can be attached to either side when not in use.
Battery life is good. I haven't do any close tracking but the laptop should last several hours when unplugged. HP claims the included charger can recharge approximately 50% of the battery in 30 minutes which seems about right to what I'm seeing.
So far, the fans do not turn on very often and, when they do, they are extremely quiet compared to other laptops I've owned. In fact, I wasn't sure the fans had even turned on until I put my ear closer to the laptop.
Watching video is great and sound from the Bang & Olufsen is quite good. This is the first laptop I've owned with a fingerprint scanner and it's a nice addition to speed up the login process.
I've only had the laptop for a week but so far, it's been running very well with no issues, even after multiple Windows updates. I've tested the webcam which seems to have decent quality but I can't speak on its video conferencing capability. I would be surprised if it had any issues.
I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone who wants a portable general purpose laptop but also someone looking for a device to handle photos, videos and creating artwork.

The keyboard is fun to type on and the laptop feels like a 13" but it's so much smaller than other 13" laptops...but the screen is just as big. My wife has a new Macbook Air and this crushes it.
