Yes, could NOT get it to startup! Laptops are stuck with starting up. It could not verify my wifi paswork again and again! Poor enginnering? I think so. Then again, the laptops do it a lot. Send us thew dog-gone disc that you send with desktop PS's! NO prob there. Sad but true
General Review: I got the 4700U with 16GB configuration and have been impressed with its performance. The machine sips power even while working on intensive tasks such as the usual windows updates, major program installs (Visual Studios, Unity, Offic, etc.), and moderate gaming. I have been particularly impressed with its power efficiency while playing CPU intensive games such as Civilization VI.
Tinkerer Addendum: I decided to omit the HP SSD size upgrade due to cost and installed a new SSD myself. The overall experience was a bit more difficult than I expected due to the quality of fit HP managed on the base. Good job there HP (though I could have wished for a little more space to work...). Since I don't plan to change SSDs often (or ever again...), I am more than happy to have a tight fit for the base.
Power User Addendum: I ended up reinstalling windows for reasons unrelated to the PC itself. This was a less than perfect experience. Due to previous driver/Windows version incompatibility for certain Synaptics touchpad drivers, HP has the downloadable drivers set up to check the windows version/build on install. Since I had used a different build of windows for my install, it caused a few delays until I figured out where the version lock was located in the installer files. The solution is a simple text edit in the installer .cmd files to allow installation on your current Windows build. Note that this should only be done for builds > 18041.
Just recently purchased HP ENVY x360 13 Convertible PC. It is exactly what I expected. Great features, easy to use and fits any where you go. I recommend this product to any one.
I've barely had mine for a week and things were nice...until I tried to watch a show. I tend to lie in bed on my side, so I turn the laptop on its side too. For some reason, this causes the keyboard to stop working. Completely. You can't even use the power, volume or brightness buttons. I know it may sound like something minor, but if you're the type of person that likes to get comfortable when streaming then this will upset you. I know it did for me. The worst part is that no one can give me a solution for it and I was told that I need to send it off somewhere to have the hardware looked at/fixed. I haven't even had it a full week, now I have to take time to send it back AND school starts next week. So much for online classes.
