so far so good. we have it for several weeks now. It is compact enough to move around for my child, and have enough power for some games he likes. It will be used for school work as well.
Really enjoying this laptop so far! I was worried it would be too small for my liking but I actually think this is perfect for me. Sleek look, fast processor, great display...no complaints!
I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks, and so far, it has really impressed me. The build quality is nothing short of amazing. I'm not sure if it is made of metal completely, but regardless, it feels great. Performance is great as well. If you know what's been going on in the CPU space, you know that AMD Ryzen has been killing it in both the laptop and desktop space. This laptop is a shining example of that. I have had no performance issues whatsoever. Nothing I have thrown at this laptop has made it slow down. Besides the everyday tasks that you might do with this laptop, I am also a mobile DJ. I use Serato DJ Pro at my gigs, and I just DJ'ed a dance this last weekend. I have to say, I was somewhat skeptical about whether or not this laptop could handle running that software, but it handled it flawlessly. As far as the rest of the laptop, I could not ask for a better experience for the price. Having a fingerprint reader makes signing in a total breeze. Once you're in, the multi-touch screen is an amazing viewing experience and the added functionality of being a convertible laptop makes this machine the best ultrabook under in this price range, in my opinion. The only real complaints I have with this laptop is that there are no lock or volume buttons on the side of the base for when you are using it in tablet mode. In actual use, this is not a big deal, but it would have made sense to have them in such a versatile chassis.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the laptop a little over 2 weeks ago and everything appears to be as promised. It is a thin, lightweight laptop that has all the features I was looking for. The keyboard is large and responsive, the screen is clear and the response of the laptop is quick.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good pc, but some issues with automatic switch for pc to tablet mode. Battery not so good and warming problems. Nothing to worry about , but not aspected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: I did my homework and found that this laptop has the best specs for its price. It's very fast and comes with little bloatware, which made me happy. It's a good portable size that I could carry around and work on things as needed wherever and whenever. Charging and restoring the battery power is relatively fast. Cons: The first thing that I noticed is that the laptop screen is a lot smaller than I expected. Secondly, I didn't like the fact that there was already greasy fingerprints on the outside of the laptop that was under the plastic coverings when I took out the laptop for the first time. Apparently what other reviews said is correct - the quality control is out of "our hands." Another minor discrepancy is the imbalance hinges. The left side is slightly looser and sticks out more than the right side. This may not annoy some people but for the other half (myself included), it's disappointing to have a high, reputable brand not fix such a small issue like this because I read other reviews stating the same issue. Lastly, one of the keys (the letter "c") was loose already when I got it. It's softer to press down than the other keys and since I don't know how to take off the keys and make it stick firmer, I'm left with an irritation that if I should ever use my "c" key, I need to press down harder on it than on the other keys.
Overall: It's not terrible for my first HP laptop. I was really hyped about getting it because it had amazing features, but the lack of consistent quality ruined my first impression with HP. I still recommend this laptop as it is, however, I wish that these apparent issues can be resolved before being in the hands of the final owner of the laptop. Hopefully HP can continue to make products like this but improve with better final touches.
