Memories on the high seas

Helping to build this set with my son was like reliving my days at his age. I remember building the original “Pirates” ship decades ago, and I must admit this one has captured its charm and surpassed its ingenuity. He loves being able to change the set from a shipwreck island to a complete pirate ship. But the mastery is in the details...the hidden areas, the creative characters, and the limitless playability.

An Incredible Throwback!
on January 21, 2021

I've never written a review for anything before, but this set was the most fun I've had building legos since I was eleven. The detail, usability, versatility, and cleverness of the set are all incredible! As someone who just missed the age window for Lego Pirates in the 90s, this set scratched a longstanding childhood itch. I would love for lego to continue making sets like these.

Excellent Classic Pirate Set
on October 6, 2020

I really enjoyed the overall experience of this set. From the box art, to the set itself. It was an excellent twist of modern, yet classic Pirates. The only problem was I never earned any points from purchasing the set.

Redbeard would be proud

Well LEGO, you may have done more harm for yourself than good as we will be holding every pirate ship released after this to the amazing standards you’ve just set! To potential buyers: if you’re thinking about getting this set the value is great, I definitely underestimated the footprint and height of the shipwrecked model. The island build is packed with so much entertainment and imagination making the set nostalgic of LEGO’s classic era outside of just the color scheme and name. The shaping of the ship’s build is unmatched by anything LEGO has released in the pirate theme, the stern of the ship is expertly constructed and the bow with the forecastle is accurately designed making the silhouette of the ship elegant. The gimmicks and play may not all be there as this set may be more of a model than for play, but with only a bit of imagination anyone can set sail for an adventure with what’s been given. The only complaint I’d have is the sails are a bit tight on the masts and I’m afraid tearing may eventually occur (that being said I still much prefer the wide look of these sails to the Imperial Flagship’s shell-like sails. Thank you LEGO and Pablo Jiménez for this awesome product, hopefully we’ll see more pirate sets of this caliber released!

Masterpiece!

Beautiful, vibrantly colored, and detailed from every single angle - front to back, top to bottom, exterior to interior. The minifigs are great and the set is well-designed so that it's easy to carry in halves. Plus, it's a 2-in-1 set! You can build the Pirates of Barracuda Bay shipwreck or the Black Seas Barracuda ship. Great price for everything you get. This may be the best LEGO set ever!

The Ultimate Lego Pirate Set
on April 27, 2020

The first thing that suprised me about this set is that it is a big boy. More than 2 feet tall and a massive footprint. So you are gonna need some room to put it somewhere.
Other than that this set is a beaut. Tons of accessories, play features and hidden little easter eggs and details. Great versitility for playing with in many ways and a fun long not so technically challanging build.
Overall an amazing colorful jam packed love letter to all the Lego Pirate themes.
