This is the Pirate set I've been wanting for a long time. The Pirate sets from the 90's have always been my favorite sets, and this was a perfect mix of nostalgia and new that created a great set and then being able to build the ship as well! The ship is probably my favorite part of this set. I really enjoyed putting it together. Now I'm left wanting more, the pirates sets of the 2010's never worked for me, there wasn't much to them in my opinion and they seemed lazy and lacking what the sets of the 90's brought to me back then. This set feels like a renewing of that feeling of adventure and possibility. I would love to see more sets like this and I know it was made from a LEGO Ideas idea, I've seen a few pirate set ideas now that have reached their 10,000 votes and hope to see more made available to fans to add to the Pirates of Barracuda Bay!

Must buy while its here

This set was the one that finally justified a review to me. I can not sing its praises enough, definitely a must buy for any Lego pirate fan. The amount of play time and customization that I have sank into this one its outstanding and I really cannot overstate their attention to detail. The many callbacks to the previous official pirates theme kept pulling my interest further and further, not to mention the wide array of bright fun colors that make up the build. Put simply, this is my favorite set I have ever bought and I believe that it will be hard for Lego to top this one.

Pirate lovers paradise

We purchased this for my 11 year old and after screams of delight, he immediately got to work. He was following the design on LEGO ideas for a while, and was so happy that it was selected to be built. Tricorne hats off to Pablo Sanchez and crew for this amazing build. I love that the mini figures have a backstory, reading this was hilarious and makes for a richer building experience. My son wasn’t intimidated by the nearly 500 page instruction book. He’s excited to complete the build.

Must own if you like Pirates/ 18th century warship

I'm 38, I own the black seas barracuda and if anyone remembers the box there were 2 alternate builds that were displayed and this brings to life the elements of a pirate ship and shipwreck/ rock island refuge ... I love it. Great display for unused shelf and used in conjunction with a little LED magic... Wow! I Was pretty disconnected from Legos for too long, the pandemic allowed the rediscovery of the childhood magic that opened the avenues of my imagination... Think BIG. Thank you Lego. I love you.

This set breathes new life into Lego Pirates

I have been a fan of Lego Pirates since my dad bought the original Black Seas Barracuda for my 6th birthday. I wasn't completely happy with the builds or looks of the sets from 2009-10, specifically the ships. But this new set, the design and build of the ship is amazing. I hope this sparks a return of the Pirates line!
