My sons favorite set

My 13 year old son (who still plays with legos) loves it. It has cool rooms and has a good amount of space. We got 2 of them so he built the ship and the ship wreck. The cannons are really cool because they shoot so you can have epic battles and actually shoot the enemy. He loves it and plays with it like all the time.

A Wonderfully Detailed Pirate Masterpiece

This is easily the greatest LEGO I’ve ever built and owned. At time of writing I’m 16 and have been a fan since I started building at 4 years old. This set is a must have for any LEGO fan. It’s a wonderfully varied build with so many details and wonderful environment sculpting. It’s a masterful representation of a golden age of LEGO and phenomenal piece to price ratio to boot. There’s no reason not to own this set it’s great for play and display doesn’t matter what age you are or how experienced you are there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this set.

Fantastic set! I initially passed on the set because it was in an island form. After doing some more research I discovered you could assemble into a ship. Once I learned that I picked this bad boy up. I'm a fan of all the subtle details. Impressed by the amount mini figs including the two skeletons, pig, parrots etc. I concur with other reviews as I feel like a ship of this size requires a minimum of 6-8 cannons. It was missing two pieces despite coming with tons of extra ones. I contacted lego support and they are already en route! I really hope Lego corp. continues to release more pirate sets including a revival of the Islanders sets. My one recommendation is that you assemble on a flat surface and not carpet. Bravo and well done!

Masterpiece

As a kid, I always wanted the pirate ships but was never able to get my hands on them. I recently got back into lego two years ago and the Caribbean sets had already retired. I was foaming at the mouth to get this set and when I finally did, holy cow, I was not disappointed.
The set is above average skill to build, but not by much. The detail is incredible, and the theme is a throwback so hard core it will tickle your nostalgia till you cry.
Piece to price value is better than most sets, and the collector value is huge.
Beautiful piece, probably my favorite lego build so far.

Best set I’ve ever purchased

Wow. I am blown away by the level of detail and love put into this set. Every corner every part of it is filled to the brim with little Easter eggs and details. The minifigures are amazing, and extremely fun to set up in the island and on the ship. I’ve bought many sets, and this is by far the funnest (and biggest) set I’ve ever bought. 100/10

You will want this "treasure" of a set!

I throughly enjoyed building this set! While the build is pretty straightforward, there are so many little surprises and unique building techniques in this set which makes it a blast to build gro that reason alone. Lego's original Pirate line was a classic and its nice to see this Ideas set go from its concept to something that Older fans of Lego could recognize and apprecaite. Value is very good. So much bigger than the pictures make it seem. If you are thinking about getting this set or are unsure....get it. I promise you won't regret buying this set. I highly reccomend listening to Pirate themes and songs as it seems to really make the experience more enjoyable. I found myself humming so many well known pirate themed music while building this. Given that this set may only last until the end of 2021 or early 2022 before retiring, I recommend that any serious Lego fan, Pirates fan, or anyone looking for a great display item with loads of details pick this set up before its too late. Snag this booty while yah can yah mateys, Arrgh!

Quite possibly the greatest pirate set ever

Pirates is just one theme that always pops into my mind when I think about classic Lego. And oh my, talk about nostalgia. As someone who has a soft spot for pirate sets from the 90's, I'll probably end up buying a second one of these. The box is an amazing throwback and the sunset colors work perfectly in the background. The set is a very fun build and at no point felt like a chore. There are so many little references to old sets such as the islander figure head, and older captain Redbeard and many more. Whether you want it in the form of an island or ship, both make for an amazing display.
