Lots of tugging

This is my second Series 9 shaver and I have always loved Braun. Though for some reason this one tugs a ton and makes it painful to shave even with only one day of stubble. I don't know if the cassette has issues but this definitely feels like a downgrade unfortunately.

The safety and satisfaction of our consumers is of the utmost importance to us. They go through many safety checks to ensure you can get the premium shave that you deserve. We're so sorry to hear about this especially since you loved your first Series 9. As you likely know, it may take time for your skin to adjust to this new shaver. Also, it's important to clean and lubricate the device to ensure it glides over the skin with ease and remove all unwanted hairs. Because we take reports like this seriously, we'd like to learn more. Kindly give us a call at 800-272-8611.

Buyer Beware! think about overall cost...

5 main gripes and none of these features are beneficial (vs. old wet / dry models) to the consumer. increase cost of ownership and earlier product replacement to benefit of P&G / Procter & Gamble: 1) The new model only works cordless. it will not work corded… For the times you forgot to charge the shaver the day before and are in a rush in the morning, good luck! When contacted Braun customer service about it, a smug reply said since it can be used wet and dry, they disabled the corded operation!!! My old Series 720S-3 model (and ever Series 5) were all designed to be used wet and dry. So when battery ages fast, the shaver is dead or need expensive service to replace the battery, this 'enhancement' does nothing for the consumer. 2) the protective plastic cap that was handy to protect the blade is gone. This was handy to just leave the shaver charging on the counter while blade is protected. Now, one has to use the ugly, enormous cleaning station just to keep the blade protected. 3) the gigantic cleaning station is an expensive gadget that occupies premium real estate space on the bathroom counter top (competing with sonic toothbrush, curlers and what not… while trying to keep the place looking tidy!). Instead, I prefer to just use the brush to clean and apply shaver saver lubricant spray which also disinfects and makes the shaver feel as new for the next shave. 4) the on / off button is located higher on S9, right where my thumb falls when holding the shaver. This accidentally turns off the shaver in the middle of the shave. With S7 and S8, this accidental turning off just did not happen! 5) finally, the most important factor being the closeness of shave. I just can not get that same closeness of shave as with my good old S7. Besides, the replacement blade on this model is twice the cost!!!
I was so confident of Braun when I purchased, I threw the box away. Then, hugely disappointed with the 'enhancement' gimmicks and worse from the shallow custom service. In summary, I am so glad of Costco return policy that I was able to return it without the box.

We certainly appreciate the loyalty you've shown Braun, Bob, and we're sorry to hear that you feel this way. We can assure you that a lot of thought goes into the design of our shavers to ensure that you can enjoy the best possible experience with them. We do value this feedback, and we'll be passing your comments along to the rest of our team. Our Wet & Dry models can't operate while being plugged in for safety reasons. While our C&C Station is designed so that your shaver can get a thorough clean, you're certainly welcome to clean your shaver manually if your prefer. Make sure to follow the manual cleaning guidelines in your user manual. As well, we don't recommend using a non-Braun cleaning solution to clean your shaver. It also may be helpful to know that it can take up to 3 weeks for your skin to adjust to a new shaver. We'd be happy to learn more about your experience and answer any questions you may have. When you have a chance, please give us a call at (800) 272-8611.

Not bad not the best

I bought this almost a month ago, it’s a great design feels well made. But it does leave hairs here and there and the biggest downfall is the sideburn trimmers. The side burn trimmers are next to useless as they do absolutely nothing. I’ve had dollar store trimmers work better. Not what you expect with the price of this razor.

At Braun, we care about the quality of your shave, which is why we aim for the top when creating our shavers. To be the best, our Series 9 9370cc has 5 cutting elements that grant 40,000 cutting actions per minute for a smooth shave. Not getting a smooth shave is very unusual especially if you taut the skin and shave against the growth of the hair from a right angle. Because we care about your shave and feedback about the sideburn trimmer, we'd like to get in touch and learn more about your experience. We can be reached at 800-272-8611.

Not My Best Braun Experience
on September 20, 2022

Purchased a Series 9 in January of 2022. I believe the manufacturer states that you should be able to get 18 months out of a blade (which are very expensive to replace). I started finding that my beard was taking longer and longer each day to get a good shave out of and as a result, the battery lasts me 5 days at best. This started to happen after about 4-5 months of use. It is difficult to get to the 6 months point without replacing the blade no less 18 months. Given that, it is a very expensive shaver to own and I am disappointed. My Braun series 5 performed much much better but it's been discontinued.

We're glad you reached out about this, and hope it helps to know, the cutter block is a precision part that's subject to wear with use. The level of wear depends on your shaving method and beard type. Inspect your foils visually for nicks, dents and wear patterns before each use. The cutter blocks are not self-sharpening and will wear out over time. Replace these parts when worn, to maintain optimal shaving performance. Generally, with good cleaning habits and an average shaving frequency. We recommend to regularly clean and oil the foil. We'd like to make sure you get the most out of your Series 9, so when you have a little time, please get in touch with us at (800) 272-8611.

Great shaving, disappointing durability!!
on December 28, 2022

I bought my first Braun Series 9 in 2018. It had the best shave I had experienced to that time and was very happy. But within 2 years, the attachments for the head on the base unit broke down and started to cut into my face while shaving. I had replaced the head once during the time I owned that particular series and initially thought I just needed to replace the head again but then found that the actual unit was causing the problem. I replaced that unit with a Series9 93xxcc Model 5793 in June of 2020. The on/off switch broke within the year but was easily replaced. I had to replace the head in August of 2021 (earlier than the expected 18 month replacement). I then replaced the head again in August, 2022, again nearly 6 months short of the expected 18 months. Shortly thereafter, the unit became much noisier than usual. (These are not quiet machines!) The noise continued to increase and I began to have more difficulty getting the shave I was used to. Three months to the day after I purchased the new head I did some extra investigating and found that one of the four small springs in the head had come loose with the attachment on the head having broken off. I think that only a part of the head has been functioning as expected leading to prolonged shaving times and the extra noise. I have now had to order a new head only 3 months after replacement! This gets a bit pricey. The other slightly irritating issue I have is that the replacement cartridges for the C&C unit rarely last even 3 weeks . . . significantly less than advertised.
In summary, a great shave but don't expect to get the same life out of your shaver as advertised. The durability of the products have not been what I expected from Braun. You will need to budget a little extra if you want the shave that the Braun Series 9 can deliver (or look for alternatives).

We're sorry to hear that this has been your experience, as our products go through strict quality checks to ensure that they reach you in the best possible condition so that you can rely on them. As well, our shavers have been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. We'll be sure to share your comments with our team. We'd like to mention that while our foil and cutterblock should last up to 18 months when used and cleaned properly, the rate of wear is dependent on your shaving method and beard type. To get the most out of each foil, use light pressure while shaving and regularly clean and oil the foil. It also may be helpful to know that generally, the durability of our cleaning cartridges are approximately 3-4 weeks, but very much depending on bathroom conditions and the pollution of the cleaning station. We'd like to learn more and gather some more details for our teams, so please give us a call at (800) 272-8611when you have a moment.

Worth every penny!!

I bought this for my husband because he has incredibly coarse curly facial hair and he always gets bumps after shaving that are painful and they scar. Ever since he started using this shaver he no longer get razors bumps and the discoloration from the old bumps is gone. This is quite literally the best purchase of a shaver that I've ever made. Absolutely worth every penny!!
