After two years the power button is about to come off of the shaver.

Not My Best Braun Experience

Purchased a Series 9 in January of 2022. I believe the manufacturer states that you should be able to get 18 months out of a blade (which are very expensive to replace). I started finding that my beard was taking longer and longer each day to get a good shave out of and as a result, the battery lasts me 5 days at best. This started to happen after about 4-5 months of use. It is difficult to get to the 6 months point without replacing the blade no less 18 months. Given that, it is a very expensive shaver to own and I am disappointed. My Braun series 5 performed much much better but it's been discontinued.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're glad you reached out about this, and hope it helps to know, the cutter block is a precision part that's subject to wear with use. The level of wear depends on your shaving method and beard type. Inspect your foils visually for nicks, dents and wear patterns before each use. The cutter blocks are not self-sharpening and will wear out over time. Replace these parts when worn, to maintain optimal shaving performance. Generally, with good cleaning habits and an average shaving frequency. We recommend to regularly clean and oil the foil. Most Certainly provides a close shave

I've been using this shaver for about a month now. And I have been shaving with electrics for about 56 years...mostly rotor blade shavers from Philips. There was a short learning curve for this new screen type shaver but I find that it gives a very close shave; much smoother that any other electric that I've owned. AND, no pulling, which was the final downfall of my last rotor shaver, which has found a new home at the landfill. This Series 9 was expensive and the smart care center is something else to worry about (with ongoing costs to replenish the liquid cartridges), but so far I've been satisfied with it. And after spending this kind of money, I do want to keep the shaver in the best condition possible. At this point, I would recommend the shaver.

I bought this to use on my head. I’m balding and refuse to have the “cul-de-sac” on top of my head so I started shaving my head with a razor and shaving cream years ago. Nothing cuts as close as a razor but this thing does an excellent job. It feels like less than half a days growth after using it on my head. The razor is so time consuming so I would shave maybe twice a week, now I zip the Braun over my head every other day in less than 5 minutes and my head is clean shaven looking all the time now. I have a beard so I don’t use it on my face but I imagine it would do just as fine of a job there as well. It’s expensive but you get what you pay for, it’s a premium shaver at a premium price.

Just got this shaver, it works ok, still have to use a straight razor to finish. The cleaner stand and charger won't stop running while cleaning. I have to turn it off.

Converted Non-Believer - 8 Days of Stubble Gone!

I bought this razor a couple weeks ago as an early Christmas present to myself. I have to admit I was skeptical of their claims. I have moderate or average facial hair growth, and I typically have to shave daily. I have been using a multi-blade razor on Mondays because past electric razors don't provide a clean shave after a weekend on not shaving. So the first Monday morning after I received it I went to work the razor, and was left with a clean shaven face like I would with my old multi-blade razor. I have to admit I was impressed, but wasn't sure it I felt the cost was worth it for that. Fast forward a couple weeks and during the winter vacation, I went 8 days without shaving, and had a pretty full beard at this point. I decideded to try using this razor and it took a decent amount of time (~12 to 15 minutes) but I was able to get not only a clean shaven face (closeness of my multi-blade razor) but also a comfortable shave!
I am a true believer at this point and super impressed!!! I wish I had taken before and after pics or video to show, because it is really impressive!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Shave, Takes a little work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, I am a lazy groomer. I don't shave daily so when I do, my whiskers are significantly longer than a five o'clock shadow. That being said, this shaver is easy to use and ultimately provides a nice, close shave. The beard trimmer works well to trim back longer wiskers and shape a beard/sideburns/goatee. The razor creates a nice, close shave but it takes more effort and time than I would expect for a shaver of this price. Each section of my face I have to go over and over many times to get the close shave but we ultimately get there. The cleaning is nice and easy and the shaver holds a charge for quite a while so I imagine one could go on a lengthy vacation with this without needing to haul around the charger. Overall, I think the quality of the shave is high but the effort to get there is more than I would expect/like.
