It has potential...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super excited about the concept and excited about having a motion sensor, so I wouldn't have to blindly feel against the wall before going down the steps (I live on the third floor). When I received this product I had an idea of how it would/should work (the box itself offers little direction aside from pushing the "it's a sensor!") upon setting it up I'm disappointed. Is it a sensor, yes absolutely is it how sensors ideally should be? Not at all. Like most C by GE products, it's able to sync to your phone no problem, and it does recognize the movement in the hallway from various heights,(I'm 5'2'' and I have a cat and dog), the sensor works great, the mounting is easy and the magnet is ridiculously strong, so I don't worry about it getting knocked off the wall. These are all good aspects. The biggest disappointment comes in when the sensor turns off completely after 30 minutes (that's the highest you can set it). This means that if after 30 minutes I need to go back in the hallway I have to remember to turn the light on again via the app (since it's new remembering is easier said than done). The purpose of a motion sensor is to detect motion and if it's shutting off completely after 30 minutes (30 min again, is the max) it defeats the purpose of having a motion sensor in my opinion.
I also have Echo with Alexa and anyone who has C by GE already knows that you can't get these two to work because the Skill for C by GE on Alexa is complete trash and it hasn't been updated and I don't think it ever will be so I don't even get the option of turning my light on when I'm not at home. This kit has the potential to be great but they have to include the option to keep the sensor on (which by the way runs on aaa batteries) and they HAVE TO update the Alexa Skill for C by GE. With these major things lacking there's no way this line will ever be 100 % fully functional.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE Smart Bulb and Sensor is relatively easy to setup and connect to one another. The app provided by GE does a good job of finding the devices without needing to go outside of the app by utilizing Bluetooth.
The sensor has a wide range with adaptable sensitivity to turn on the light. Likewise, the light bulb has the ability to be timed for scenes and can be dimmed.
The only downside we had in trying out the light was a firmware update freezing up the app and the app not being entirely user friendly. Otherwise, we’re please with the GE Sensor and Light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this it was so easy to get setup and I love that it is wire free. It has some really handy features too I love that I can program it with my phone to deactivate at certain hours that I don't want it on. And that it works with my Alexa. It puts out nice soft light that doesn't hurt my eyes when I'm getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom or get a drink. It was so easy to install it took less than five minutes and I didn't have to do any wiring or drilling into my wall. The app is really easy to navigate as well which is great because I am not the most techie person. I plan on getting a few more of these for other places in my home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not sure how it would work, I'm still not sure how it does what it does. But it does work. Its crazy how a sensor can cut a light bulb on and off. Like it senses the movement and the light comes on. It scared us a few times because it would detect the cat and would make it come in. It is definitely something to get use to.

It provides the perfect amount of light for a smaller area. The motion sensor is not overly sensitive, so our dog does not set it off all the time. I am very pleased with this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] C by GE Motion Sensor Starter Kit (1 Bulb + 1 Motion Sensor) is the best acquisition I got to my home in a long time! I always wanted to have the lights of my home connected to my smart device (Alexa) but I thought it would be complicated, confused, demanding me knowledge that I don't have. With this kit everything is easy and uncomplicated. I just followed the instructions on the box and it worked perfectly. I love that the light can be controlled away from home, I can control it with my voice or have it turned off/on with any movement in the room. My only complaint is the wall mount to keep the sensor on the wall. I would prefer something easier and that can be removed leaving my wall with no holes. But this is a small aspect of a great and impressive product. I am very happy and satisfied with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was something that I definitely needed, My previous motion detector light had quit working, I got this one out got it put together in mountain and I notice the amount of space that it covers is far better than what I had before, no 1 can just walk up now and the light not come on, this makes me feel a lot safer in my home for my family.
