This toaster oven really takes some getting used to. We had a standard Cuisinart toaster oven for a few years and find that it was far more accurate to use. This new Air Fryer has 4 heating coils vs. 2 coils with the older oven. As a result, MANY of our cooked items wind up getting burned! There's way too much trial and error to guess the correct cooking time for this oven. We now cut the recipe's recommended cooking time in half and reduce the temperature as a starting point to avoid burning our meal. Also, the controls are not digital and less precise than the former oven. When you finish cooking something earlier than anticipated you must force the timer dial back to zero/off, which feels like you are damaging the timer control. The timer makes a loud ticking noise during operation vs. the quiet operation of the older oven. Overall, I would say that the manufacturer didn't conduct enough user tests to determine any necessary design changes based on customer's feedback with this Air Fryer.
We prepared French Fries from freshly cut potatoes per the recommendations in the enclosed recipe book. The Fries were burned to a crisp. Feeling determined to make the Fries, we tried again using half of the time specified in the book and they came out much better, but dry. We simultaneously cooked more Fries using a deep fryer and all three of us conducted a blind taste test - the deep-fried Fries won hands down. They were more like the taste one would expect from French Fries, albeit with more fat ): So, I would say that you sacrifice flavor with the Air Fryer for reducing the fat content of deep fried food.
I hope we will become more proficient with time. Just be prepared for a steep learning curve. It's not as easy to operate as the older Cuisinart oven that we could set for the precise time and temperature specified and cook a meal perfectly.

Never thought I'd love a kitchen appliance…

In more that 45 years of living away from my parents I have owned three "toaster ovens." None were spectacular and really only did good to pretty good toast. Now, comes this Cuisinart Air Fryer and I an flabbergasted. Not only does it make very good toast (just be sure to keep a watch on things as it can go from toasted to crispy black fairly fast) but the air fryer function is a marvel. I will never do hot dogs any other way from this point on. lightly crisp on the outside and succulent on the inside.
I do strongly sugest you use aluminum foil in the solid-bottomed pads to keep oil from adhering to the surface, but having an easily-removed crumb pan on the bottom makes keeping the inside clean and breeze.
The unit is larger than most toaster ovens, but fits nicely under a standard kitchen cabinet. The top does not get more than slightly warm so we can keep a loaf of bread on top without problems.
The four different setting knobs need some attention and 'learning" but are soon mastered. Just do not try things before you read the small manual!
Overall, we are very happy with this purchase.

I expected so much more from this oven. The parts are not machine washable, they stain very easily and the product was barely used and looks old. Also, the air frying feature is not good. It dos not fry both sides equally like a regular air fryer does.

I just bought the Cusisnart air fryer a week ago and love it. My son was here when we opened it and started looking up things to cook on it and found where you can make jerky. He went to the local butcher shop and had them cut a steak thin enough for jerky,and you talk about good. Now he wants in one for Christmas. Baking is taking a little getting used to but I know we’l Get it soon and this will probably be the only oven we will use.
