I have tried grating hard cheese & cabbage using the shredding disc and I have made muffins. Everything worked well. It saves time and now I don't use my hand shredder. I love it.

I previously had a Cuisinart food processor that I bought in 1998. It was still running when I bought the new one. Yes, it was a real work horse. But one time when I was turning frozen banana pieces into "ice cream" the lid got chipped and after that I had to hold down the lid in order for the processor to run. Needless to say, it was a pain to keep doing that so I bought a new one which is much lighter and I love the newer model. I had also bought this same processor for my 19 year old granddaughter for Christmas. I would not buy any other processor.
