Bought to replace an older Cuisinart food processor that was slowly fading. This new model doesn't have the "heft" that the old one had, resulting in the 4 stars, but, true to the name, it works great!

the Cuisinart food processor is great, much less noise than the black & decker one I had previosly bought. It still mkaes noise but not as ear splitting as the other one. As for use, it does everything successfully.

My husband and I got married in June, 2017 (best day ever!!). We received our food processor as a wedding gift and were SO excited!! We kept our gifts in storage until we bought our new house. About a month ago we moved into our first home, which finally meant we could use all our fun new wedding gifts!! I was in charge of making a yummy dessert, for a party we were going to, which meant.... I could finally use our new food processor! I had our food processor on our kitchen counter... it wasn’t on or plugged in. I simply lifted the blade up from inside with my right hand and the extremely sharp blade got my left forearm. Next thing I know... there is blood everywhere and I have a huge gash/cut on my arm. I had to be rushed to the ER where I then found out that I had a torn tendon and would have to have surgery. This happened on a Friday, so in the ER, the doctor stitched me up and put me in a huge splint for the weekend until my surgery. My surgery was the following Monday. I found out that my tendon was 85% torn and was in a hard splint for two weeks. I was given exercises to do with my fingers to start building up strength. After my two weeks in my hard splint, I am now in a removable brace and attend Occupational Therapy twice a week. I will be in OT and my brace for eight weeks. Here’s the thing... I was going to chop up Oreos with my new food processor... which I easily could have done by hand (I know really wish I did!) but I was so excited to use this food processor which I heard so many wonderful things about. So needless to say... my food processor is back in storage and I’m not going to be using it for a long time. This was a freak accident but it would be my advice to add some more warning labels about how sharp those blades are and how dangerous it could be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve had and enjoyed my Cuisinarts over the past 48 years. Received one for my wedding in 1977 and have had one in every house I owned. It’s a work horse doing everything for me in cooking. From chopping to grating, to mixing , slicing and more. Why would anyone want to do it by hand when the Cuisinart does it better and faster. The work bowl cleans easily too.
