this didn’t even last two summers before it broke. Pathetic. The control panel suddenly froze and the only way to turn it on and off was to unplug it and never change the setting. Didn’t have time to investigate getting it repaired since it is the middle of a deadly heat wave and had to replace immediately
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had originally bought another manufacturer's portable AC, which did not work and so I bought this as a replacement and couldn't be happier! Works wonderfully, efficiently and cools my apartment quickly!

Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product to use in a small studio apartment. My main concern was that I buy a unit powerful enough to cool down the entire apartment in a short amount of time, and to keep it cool throughout. I'm glad that I went with a 12k btu unit. The apartment cools down in about 10 mins. The only thing that I wish was was different is the placement of the air vents. Since my apartment is small, I had to place my bed right next to the window. Since the vents are front facing, the air blows directly on me all night, even if I try change the direction of fan blades. I've seen some units that have the air vents placed on top of the unit, so the air flow is directed towards the ceiling. Other than that the unit is great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purcahsed this unit to replace an old one of 20 years. I live in a 1500 sq. ft. one level house. It keeps our house comfortable with the aid of a 2nd 12000 btu unit. This unit is easy to operate and installation was quite simple. I am considering purchasing a second identical unit to replace our 2nd 20 yr. old one. So far very pleased with this unit. I only hope it lasts at least half as long as our other one. I really like all the features of this unit..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this unit to replace a portable AC we had been using that wasn’t really cutting it. Although they are both 12,000 BTU, this unit cools much more efficiently. The air is ice cold coming out of the blowers! The economy mode “checks in” less frequently, every ten minutes or so, compared to our portable that was every few minutes. I like this feature and it also cools the room (about 500 sqft) quicker and better! So far so good. This Frigidaire is living up to its reputation. My only complaint is that the back of the unit has two dents that occurred during the shipment. This is clearly a package engineering issue at Frigidaire as many others have listed this as a complaint. Other than that, very satisfied customer here!
