Quiet and effective

Solid compact and efficient! Lots of features.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the unit several weeks ago to replace a 12, 000 BTU Samsung window unit.
The Frigidaire has more features, is smaller and weighs less, but cools the living room quicker. It also does it more efficiently with the remote sensing feature and does it more quietly. It is easier to install as well.
The only minus is the Styrofoam fresh air/vent mechanism which could be more intricate and sturdy.
Still I give it five stars fir all the pluses.

Uh oh, dswf! I can imagine how frustrating that noise must be. Please confirm the installation was done correctly, and take a look at the normal noises you can expect to hear from your a/c on page 4 of the following manual:

Remote Sensor great idea!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this to replace a 12,000 portable BTU unit that was using way to much energy during use to achieve the cooling needs I had (my portable unit was able to cool the entire upstairs of my small saltbox home). In the first week of use with the Frigidaire unit, I felt it was not pushing enough cold air thru to the hallway and into the 2nd bedroom. I was about to return it to the store following the return guidelines when I went to the store and spoke with a manager. He explained how to properly use the sensor. I HAD NO IDEA, as the directions were vague on that subject, that you could set the temperature from the sensor and then move it to another room for the unit to know how far and long it needs to keep cooling! Now it works great, no need for a second smaller conditioner at the end of the hall, (which we were considering). Once temp is reached I switch it to energy save, and it quietly goes on and off very efficiently.
I would recommend this to a friend!
