Replacement Model Cooling Nicely -- For Now

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The original machine's keypad died three weeks into use, the remote was useless -- and it took the retailer (granted, not Frigidaire) a week during some oppressively hot July days to replace it. The new machine is working well... after two days' use. Am keeping fingers crossed regarding the keypad -- hope this is not a systemic problem. Perhaps I was sold a refurbished machine initially? Paid for it as though it were new, certainly...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Bang for the Buck!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this air conditioner approximately two months ago just prior to the NY summer. My previous a/c was a floor unit that struggled to cool my apartment. This unit does so with ease! In fact it stays on energy saver 90% of the time. Importantly while cooling my apartment better my energy bills have decreased. Great Job Frigidaire!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I HAD been a loyal to Panasonic appliances must of my adult life. I reluctantly purchased this unit based on the measurement of our window in our new home. But I'm sold for now.
We're in Hawaii and when the humidity is high with no cool tradewinds we wilt in the heat. I thought we would need two units, one for the kitchen and one for the living room but started with one unit in the kitchen. It's been over a month since installation and 24 hour use. The single 12K BTU unit is enough for the kitchen and living room! We have a smaller unit installed in or master BR and used only at night.
Family is settling in cool comfort and dogs are snoozing contentedly. It's energy efficient and not pulling much power especially on economy mode. It's loud when fan is on high, but it is a window unit and to be expected. I'm curious to see the electric bill, but not worried.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oh no! I am dismayed to hear of your room air conditioner experience, BMH228. It is normal to hear ‘high pitch chatter’ a sound of rushing air, gurgle/hiss, pinging or swishing and vibration. These are all normal. For more information of normal sounds during operation, please refer to page 4 in your Owner’s Manual. Verify that the original installation procedures have been followed properly. Pay special attention to any gaskets. If improperly installed, even a high quality, low-noise unit can rattle mercilessly. Doesn't work

Just bought this and installed it. It doesn't blow cold air. Brand New !! Read the guide and trouble shooting nothing resolved it.

Dead out of the Box

This is the second of these models I purchased. It did not work out of the box. Powers on, fan on, compressor on but no cold air. This one was replacing a previous purchase of the same model that was also dead out of the box. Frigidaire did offer to refund the first one so we ordered a replacement but it had the same problem. It doesn't work.
