Terrible DO NOT BUY

This ac is terrible iv had it for 2 months and it has to run 24/7 and my room doesn't get any colder 67-62 degrees is all the same and it feels more like 72 degree air. this ac will get absolutely no where close to 62 DO NOT BUY

We appreciate you taking a moment to share your comments with us. You should be able to maintain temps in the 60’s, when outside temps are not more than 20 degrees higher. Depending on the setting you have the air conditioner on, it can run continually. In the Cool mode, the fan will run continuously. Cooling may not occur until room temperature rises above 62°F (17°C). You can also check that the air filter has not become clogged which can affect the cooling performance.

Works like a charm

I bought this air conditioner today for my (very) old apartment. The install was pretty easy but due to its' weight (80 lbs.) a helper would have been ideal. There is a lot of included insulation material as well which I was very happy about because that will make this a more efficient unit!
As for its' operation it is a window air conditioner so it's obviously not silent but it is quieter than all the units i've used in the past. The temperature sensing remote was a nice touch too because you don't have to fiddle with the set point on the unit itself. Just tell the remote what temp you want it and have it nearby. Perfect for lazy people like me!

To be honest, I was not happy that I had to invest in a new air conditioner alreadym, since I am on a single income, live alone, and I had just purchased one (a different brand) in July of 2012.....same physical size, same BTUs, almost identical front panel design to this Frigidaire. It was used for about a month that first year, then for about 4 to 5 months as needed in 2013, 2014, and 2015, but in about late August last year, it stopped blowing cold air. It still ran, in fact, I could still hear the compressor kick on, but the air was not cold. I toughed out the rest of the season without air, then knew I had to get it fixed or, hopefully, some sort of partial 'refund' on a new replacement unit. Long story short, I probably spent a total of an hour and a half to 2 hours making phone calls, being transferred, getting transferred back to the automated answerer, transferred again, given a different number to call, (only to hear the exact same automated answerer), etc., until I finally decided to give up and go buy a new one, and a different brand. I got on the internet and searched 15,000 BTU air conditioners, read all the reviews, and decided on the Frigidaire, due to the high ratings and reviews. I called a place that carried this brand and wasn't more than a 45 minute drive for me, but they said they didn't have one in stock, and the closest store that did was almost a 3 hour drive away (I live in a small town in eastern Iowa, and would have had to drive quite a way south and east into Illinois). So, I asked if they had a 12,000 BTU in stock and they did. I took off work one afternoon and drove there, bought it, brought it home and installed it in my window, following the instruction book, and have been very pleased so far with the performance. I love the 'Econ' choice, but today and for the next 3 or 4 days, we are in a heat warning (temps in the 90s with heat indices reaching as high as 110 to 115), so I am ecstatic that I have this air conditioner and that it works so well! I would definitely recommend the Frigidaire brand to anyone; quality matters!

I got this unit a few months ago. I have been very pleased with the performance of this unit. It is easily installed and quickly cools the top level of my home. Very good purchase.

Works Wonderfully & Is So Quiet!
