New window AC unit

So far so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has worked very well so far. Makes a pretty concerning noise whenever it shuts off that lasts about 1 second. Not sure if that noise indicates some sort of future problem or not, for the time being I am not too concerned. The actually AC works well though and I appreciate its features + having a remote for it.

A Really Cool Purchase!

One that was purchased back in the early 1970’s is still working effectively! I plan to purchase another one of these soon! This baby really, really cools!

Ready for Summer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having issues for years with our central cooling system we decided to purchase window units for the main areas we need to cool. Very straight forward to install and the manual explains what each function does. Having a remote makes it that much easier as well. The unit itself looks very nice and the electrical cord is a generous length. I recommend trying out different settings and temperatures until you find what works the best. It comes with a few rolls of foam for insulation, some with adhesive and some not, but after installing I did end up purchasing extra just because of the size and type of windows we have. As far as noise, it sounds like your typical window air conditioner. You can tell when only the fan is running and then when the compressor kicks on and off. I'm used to sleeping with the sound of a fan and easily able to sleep with no issues having this AC right next to the bed at night. The only area I can't review is the cost of running the unit but we've already purchased and installed 2 and would gladly buy again.

Dead after three weeks of use! Poor quality control.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My unit worked fantastically for three weeks, and then I noticed the compressor had stopped running. I had the unit on for half an hour but the compressor would no longer engage. I wound up taking it out and putting my OLD Frigidaire from 2004 back in the window! When I took it out, I noticed that the entire basepan was rusted inside the unit, and that one of the copper tubings on the outdoor condenser had completely rusted through. Completely unacceptable after just three weeks of use.
