Biggest piece of junk I’ve ever bought. Motor gets jammed all the time. Customer support does not help at all.

Easy to Operate, Great flavors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rider DLX is a great electric grill/smoker. The build is solid and high quality and I find it rather easy to operate basic functions. I set up the grill using traditional pellets (make sure to screen them first to remove dust and small pellets that will clog the auger) and the flavor and taste of all food has far surpassed anything we have cooked on a gas, charcoal, or electric grill. I am still learning how to master the smoker function, but am very satisfied with the results so far. The grill is a beast and includes over 1,200 square inches of cooking space boasting large surface area grates with two heat zones and two upper racks that can be changed out with smaller specialty racks. A temperature probe is included and the grill can accept an additional probe. The power cord is short, the only downside I have experienced. The instructions for the grill are well written and include detailed images taking the guesswork out of assembly. I found the directions straightforward and easy to follow, although a little time consuming, which is to be expected. I was able to assemble this on my own, needing assistance twice, when the grill needed to go on its side to attach the legs and then again to set it upright. You need to do an initial inspection/shutdown and a seasoning/shutdown cycle, so plan a couple hours for these prior to using the grill. I set up the grill and completed both runs the same afternoon and grilled later in the evening. I look forward to exploring the smoker function more and having many more grill outs with friends and family over the years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been in the market for a grill/smoker for quite a while. I was intrigued by pellet smokers but didn’t know if I would be able to get the sear/char that I wanted. When I saw this smoker with the ability to smoke and sear I decided to take the plunge into the world of pellet smokers. I am so glad that I did.
When the box arrived I knew that this was going to be a big grill with plenty of room for all my grilling needs. The grill was packed very securely and well protected. It would take quite an accident for this thing to get damaged in transit. I’m not sure one person couldn’t assemble the grill but having two people made the assembly easily manageable. The instructions were very thorough and everything was clearly labeled. The assembly took forty-five minutes with no major issues. The one gripe I do have is the sticker placed on the inside of the grill lid. Unlike the stickers on the outside of the grill, it did not want to come off. That was very frustrating.
As a novice griller, I was a little intimidated by the grill and all its doodads and settings but from the very beginning, it was very intuitive and easy to use. It took about an hour to season the grill and then I was ready to cook some meat. Getting the grill up to temp only takes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes but unfortunately, there isn’t any kind of beep or alarm to let you know when it gets to temp. I have found that it does a good job of holding temp even through an 8-12 smoke. The one downside I have found is that the flaps don’t completely close in the hopper and while cooking, pellets will leak out of the bottom. Fortunately, it is very small and the number of pellets that you lose isn’t significant but it is a bummer to clean up. Going from smoke to sear to get that char I want is as simple as sliding a lever. Overall, this grill made smoking meat a piece of cake. Even for a novice like me.
After cooking, the shutdown and clean-up process is super easy. The included bucket makes emptying the hopper and storing the pellets a two-minute process. The round center grate is easy to remove and clean. And the removable ash pan makes it easy to get rid of the ash.
Overall, I am very happy with this grill and feel like it has made my journey into the world of smoking meat a seamless one. I would highly recommend this grill to anyone in the market for a pellet smoker.

I have had this smoker for a year now and I love it! I have smoked everything from salmon to briskets and everything in between. I recommend that if you're going to use the sear feature that you clean up any grease or drippings from the bottom of the smoker first because yes people grease does start on fire. I have used it in the dead of winter (temp was -10 for a high) and the DXL kept it at a consistent 250 degrees. The only issue that I have had with the DXL is that the round center grate has a few cracks in it but I am still able to remove it for cleaning with no issues. I am so glad that I bought this! I Iove this Oklahoma Joes DXL smoker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to grill and have many different grills for it. I always wanted to try a smoker but didn't know where to go as I have never used one before. After looking around came across this smoker loved that its a big size to make a lot of food and its electric so you can fine tune to the meat you are cooking. Assembly was not hard at all very straight forward, you do need two people as it is pretty heavy. Make sure when you are thighing the bolts you do not over tighten them so they don't break

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is a great grill. for grilling it works just like a gas grill. easy to get hot and holds high Temps well. does give the meat that wood flavor which I prefer over gas.
the smoke feature is great. works really well and easy to dial in your temperatures. i have a couple other smokers and the pellet is so much easier to use. you don't have to constantly feed it wood the hopper hold enough for atleast 12 hours. it's really nice to be able to just set the temp and walk away from it knowing it's cooking away like it should.

The Oklahoma Joe’s Rider DLX Wood Pellet Grill and Smoker is big, and just beautiful. I was in the market for a pellet grill when I came across this and got the best of both worlds, a smoker and a grill. That was the day I started making some delicious meals. Your meat is only as good as your grill and let me tell you, you will be grilling some delicious meat. So, lets go over some features and PROs and CONs about the Rider DLX.
Features-
-The Rider DLX can be used as a smoker or just as a grill. The features an expansive temperature range from 175 to 650+ degrees giving you that perfect low and slow smoking or the hi temp searing in sear mode.
-The Rider DLX stands tall at 54in and 56in wide and 31in deep, providing you with a massive 1200sq. in. of cooking space.
-The flex grate and 2 flex rack system plus the additional accessories (sold separately), providing you with versatility and configuration options.
-100 wood pellet heat source
-Ash Cup
-2 Drip Buckets
PROs-
-Large Pellet Hopper, 20lb Capacity
-Heavy duty- This grill is built to take a beating. (Heavy-gauge steel construction)

Great smoker grill!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got this smoker. I was ecstatic to get this. A few of my friends have pellet grills and I have been dying to have one of my own. It took some time to put together, but I wanted to make sure I had everything right. Once it was assembled it looks better than I expected, with solid quality materials, The instructions made me feel confident that I could get this thing going and cook something with ease. I seasoned it the day before we planned on grilling as the instructions stated, and I couldn't believe how quiet and smooth it ran. Food was done perfectly, the flavor was delicious! I'm looking forward to using this all spring and summer long!
