Has broken down twice in 6 months

I bought this grill in August 2020 and have only been able to use it 5-6 times since then. It has been broken down the rest of the time. First the auger motor locked up and I had to replace it - after waiting a month for the part. Next the igniter stopped working and once again I am without a grill. Not to mention the paint that peeled off the bottom of the grill the first time I used it. When it works, it does a good job of smoking but keeping it working is the problem. Very disappointed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this Smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There were a few issues :it is supposed to be 30 inches wide but was 30 1/2 had to take parts off and put thru door wall at angle to get on deck. On seasoning it was set, as per instructions at low grilling in sear mode. Temp is to be 335-365. Temp went up to 426 and hoovered between 426-410. Cooking on smoker for first time, I know its a learning process but it is a fantastic grill. Set it on the temp and set the timer and sit back with a cold beverage! Smoked skinless salmon on a cedar plank. Could not find real instruction so I played it by ear. I believe that I left it on a bit too long which dried it out but a great job with little work after prep!

I have had this grill for a little over a year. We live in a cold climate so I also bought a cover to protect it from snow. First it was issues with the temp sensor not registering low temps. Then it was auger jams everytime. Then it was the igniter going out. Took three months to get another one. Now the igniter is out again. Small issues in between all those major ones. Get the food all prepped and then not being able to cook on it is infuriating.
The build quality is good (metal), the individual components are junk. I am very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features, great food, and fun to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this grill a week ago and used it twice already.
It came special delivery on an extra large crate in a large box. This thing is massive! You will not find
something like this for less than 1000. The assembly was easy and does take 2 ppl for some
parts because of the weight. Took about an hour
to assemble. I was very pleased as i do not like assembly.
First time start up and operation is pretty straight forward and easy. The grilling temps and capability are what sets this apart from other pellet grills. So far i have grilled strip steaks and smoked some baby back and st louis ribs. They turned out great. The ribs im proud to say could be up there with the award winners.
I saw some negative reviews about auger jamming up. This model has a 30 cooling process that runs the pellets out of auger so that it doesnt jam. Also i havent had any problems with the power button sticking so it looks like they fixed these issues.
All in all anyone looking for a pellet grill/smoker i would very much recommend this grill!

Would not buy again

When this thing is working, it is great. Easy to use. Puts out good smoke. Twice in the 9 months I have owned this, the pellet auger quit turning. Of course, it is always when I am about to put something on the grill. First time it happened, I had to disassemble and reassemble the drive a few times to get it to work again. It just happened for the second time and I am not looking forward to breaking it down again. Seems like WAY more work to keep the grill working.

Auger Sadness

This grill was awesome, I host a lot of BBQ thru the year, always great food, now 8 months into owning this and the auger quit turning, I cleaned out and it turns but as soon as pellets are in it stops, I can hold the auger with my fingers and the motor sounds like splines are stripped
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nothing but issues

Bought it Feb 22nd, 2020. Stopped working properly in August. Worked with Support from August 28th 2020 til now April 11th 2021 with no resolution. Replaced the control panel, igniter, and thermometer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's not at all hard to assemble but you do need help standing the Rider DLX Pellet Grill once you have the legs, wheels and shelf on. Simple instructions that are clear. This smoker is a real beauty!
Your going to enjoy your cooking experience with the Rider DLX Pellet Grill. So far smoked chicken (whole) and beef hot dogs. The chicken came out juicy and flavorful. Making those neighbors drool LOL. Grilled the dogs and they were delicious!
If you're interested in buying a smoker the Rider DLX Pellet Grill is the one you need. What are you waiting for!?!
