Great until it suddenly stopped working

Positives: I've had my headlamp for about 5 months and used it weekly for trail running/hiking. It feels like I'm wearing nothing on my head, very comfortable. I love the bright orange color as it is easy to spot, especially in the dark. The various light modes are great when hiking, especially the flood light and red light when hiking with others (you don't blind your friends). The elastic band and tilt light are easy to adjust and stay in place well. I don't have any issues with the battery life as I charge it weekly. The longest I've gone with the head lamp on at various modes before it died was about 12 hours of use.
Negative: The IPX4 rating boasts resistance to splashes of water and 90% of the time I do not hike when it is raining. On all occasions when it did begin raining (I can count them on my hand) I put on a raincoat and hood to cover my head (in turn covering the head lamp). I tried to turn it on today and it wouldn't turn on. It was fully charged as indicated by the 4 white dot lights on the battery. Upon closer inspection I can see very little but apparently enough corrosion in the lights itself. I suspect this is due to the high humidity and salinity in the air because of where I live. We have a joke that everything metal will rust here but I really didn't expect my head lamp to die in 5 months. I would not recommend this head lamp as the price is pretty steep for rather low durability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Headlamp

Bought this just a few weeks ago and it’s been a game changer compared to my old headlamps, plus this charges so quickly when paired with my Charge 80pd.

Good looks, great functionality

I mainly use a headlamp for pre-dawn running, and in the past I've tended to go with much cheaper options. But this is is well worth the extra expense — it's by far the most comfortable, secure, and useful headlamp I've owned. For long runs in particular, shifting the weight to the back of the strap makes an unbelievable amount of difference in comfort and stability. It's a little hard to adjust the angle of the light and hit the button with gloved fingers, but that's a small price to pay for all the other benefits. The variety of lighting and brightness options are phenomenal, and it just plain looks better than any other headlamp.

It's almost perfect!

Definitely the most comfortable headlamp I've ever tried. I don't have any complaints about the design of the product however I couldn't give it 5 stars. The other night it turned off without any warning. Some of the other biolite products go into a power saving mode and I'm not sure if this headlamp doesn't have that feature or if mine just didn't work. Not the best for heavy usage either. Perfect for runners but if you plan on going doing any backcountry activities bring a battery pack!

Great lightweight headlamp

I use my headlamp for running at night. It is very light and does not bounce. I love the fact that it is rechargeable. My only complaint is that the on/off switch is very hard to use when its on your head.Other than that it is a great product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent headlamp

I'm happy with my headlamp.
The thinness of the front lamp unit makes it very stable when moving around and easier to move around in tight spaces.
The downside of said thinness is, that when in flood mode and tilted forward, light spills on my glasses and nose.
Battery life is OK, even excellent if one considers the size of the battery/control unit. That said, even if the battery compartment was a bit larger and heavier because of a more capacious battery, I'd still be happy with this headlamp.
Red light is too bright. I put small piece of black gaffer tape directly over one of the two red LED's.

Very nice lightweight lamp. I carry it with my BMW R1200GS for late night camp arrivals.
Recharging option seems environmentally positive. Adjustable non-bulky and comfortable. Lumen output from blinding bright to dim. Only drawback is light selection button, single switch takes multiple presses to achieve desired brightness. Not particularly as problem as I don't use more than a couple of settings. Overall highly recommended.

I do love how the battery is in the back which gives it good balance.
However it does have a few flaws.
The light control button should be relocated cause while running it is difficult to change light patterns, cause the button is on top of the light. Small button hard to feel with a finger. The light itself is good enough but I wish the flood was on both sides of the direct beam to even out the light pattern.
Even with a few flaws it is still much better than other head lamps.
