Great until it's not...

Loved this headlamp and used it for all my early morning and late night runs. The controls were intuitive, after a brief intro, and I found the brightness/modes to suit every scenario I threw at it and it saw almost a year of adventure. And then things went downhill. After about a year, the battery suddenly won't hold a charge. Despite the charge indicator showing full capacity, the light would only last about twenty minutes before shutting down until it received a full charge (queue endless loop of frustration). Disappointed but all good things must come to an end... If you don't mind buying a new one each year, jump on in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like this Headlamp. It is my second one. The first is still working, but the band is looking old and worn. I use it everyday for doing chores and any general place I need extra light.

on/off switch is too small

A good quality light, but it has one major problem! the on/off switch is so small that if i am wearing gloves I have to take them off to operate the switch. this issue caused me to return the light. Fix that and I would buy it again.

the headlamp is awesome and easy to use

Purchases the headlamp during the kickstart and extremely happy with my purchase. Bout two, one for me and one for my son. He is in Boy Scouts and camps up to two weekends a month. The battery last easily past the weekend and recently was at summer camp and lasted the whole week. Obviously not on all the time but he tends to use the high setting.
It’s very comfortable. Liking the weight in the back is great when hiking and it’s compact and comfortable even to wear over a winter cap.
I have ran with it on and holds it’s position. Was initially concerned as others tend to fall off my head or slips down around my neck.
Can say we are very happy with our purchase

I really appreciate the quality of the Headlamp. My only annoyance is the one adjustment buckle being reversed. I see that is a design choice but, it makes my head hurt due to the hard plastic jutting out. I need to wear a toque or something to protect my head if I am wearing it for longer periods.

Poor battery life

I recieved this as a Christmas gift and was very excited to try it out. Unfortunately the head lamp has died on both trips I've take it on and ends up just taking up room in my pack. The 3.5 hours on high is a stretch at best, you have to be very careful not to leave the headlamp on high for any extended period of time as it will quickly lose battery. The Lo setting does work well but for something of this price I'd expect the HI setting to have more life. There are many alternatives on the market that do just as well for much less.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great headlamp. Best I've owned. Two ideas to improve it - make the strap longer (fitting over hats is tight), make the lowest light setting lower (still quite bright even when turned down to mi imum).

The lumens are more than sufficient for any need I might have when walking my dog around the woods at night. The low is also all you need in a dark situation. I love not having to replace batteries. The battery pack in the back really balances the feel of it. Also I can wear it around my neck, with light clicked fully downward, & have some useful light without it shining in someone’s face. I love my old Black Diamond headlamp but the lumens & rechargeability of this combined with the better distribution of weight is such a satisfying nerd experience. The color is a good orange, a light orange, not neon or harsh. My only concern is that it is already showing marks of dirt, from me using it outside at night & turning it on & off with smudged fingers. I haven’t yet tried wiping it with a damp cloth. Still, it’s worth it for me, a scattered ADHD person to be able to scan for the orange color & quickly find it. I know black gear doesn’t show dirt but then how often do you lose track of it in a dim situation?
