Nice compact dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am limited to an 18 inch dishwasher in my kitchen due to layout, and I bought this one to replace a Kenmore bought in 2008. This one has a nice look and feel, and seems well made. However, there are several pros and cons vs my old one:
Pros: the spacing between the racks is very generous, and allows me to fit taller items on both the top and bottom racks than I could with the old one. Also, the water supply tube for the upper rack is more low profile on this frigidaire, which means more can be fit on the top rack. The spinning washer arm does not hang down as far, so it allows taller items in the bottom rack. it was very easy to install on my own, which was a huge plus.

Cons: This frigidaire has fewer settings than my old one, and there is no "delicate" or "light" wash. The shortest cycle is 1 hour, and I have yet to find a wy to adjust temperature or aggressiveness of cleaning. The silverware basket only fits in pne place in the dishwasher, and is both awkwardly placed and has an excessively tall carrying handle. It just always seems to be in the way. On my old Kenmore, the silverware basket had 3 different optional lavations on the bottom rack some oriented back to front and some left to right. That was great in such a small dishwasher to make room for larger items. In this Frigidaire, the only way to fit even a large bowl on the lower rack is to leave the silverware basket out entirely.
Overall, I like it, and I didn't have many choices between brands and models, so it was the best option available, and the only one that was available to match my new Frigidaire gallery fridge and stove. But I was quite surprised that my 17+ year old Kenmore had more features and settings than a brand new model.

Is so quiet you hardly know it is running.
