Temperature Selector Switch, design flaw!

Slow to heat, but the Temperature Selector Switch has no resistance to movement, it turns on when replacing cover after usage (twice) slightest touch creates movement to dial, heat comes on melts cover on unit, certainly a design flaw to temp regulator switch (Patio Electric Upright model )
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this grill!

I have had this grill for over 5 years and it is still working like a champ! I don't understand all the negative comments honestly. I initially bought it for my balcony in a small apartment. Let me tell you all the things I love about it. First it is electric so there is no hassle with coal and fires. Every single time I've used this it cooks the meat completely while keeping it juicy. I will admit it takes a bit longer than a regular grill, but it's worth it as long as you know how to use it. I also use wood chips or charcoal to add a smokey flavor. Cleaning was easy, just run the empty grill for about ten minutes and I used a steel grill brush with some water. Overall it lives up to all the promises made and I can't stop raving about it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tried this electric grill for the first time yesterday with some steaks. I preheated it to about 375 and put them on - 8 steaks at once. The temperature of the grill dropped drastically and had a hard time recovering. I turned the heat setting all the way up and it still had a hard time coming back to temperature. I don’t think I will ever get the same results that I do with a gas grill. Next time I will reduce the amount of meat I put on and see what happens. I’m disappointed, but will try again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I think the product is great - sick of the gas grills. Takes a lot of time to heat up which is not a problem it is just different than the old way of BBQ'n ... The steaks off this grill are absolutely delicious. I'm still learning to use the grill and I expect that grilling vegetable temp should be around 300 rather that 500 for steaks. Great sturdy product.

Design Flaw for sure

I really liked the grill; using it a few days a week. Heats up fast, chars well, and fits well on my small patio balcony. I fried it though putting the cover back on and accudentally turned the grill back on. Came out 2 days later to find the cover fried to the grill and the grill was shot. I'll buy another, but no cover this time. The switch needs resistance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than gas

I love it. they last 3 years plus and warm quickly and. Ok better than I ever did with charcoal. I’ve owned 6 or more over last 20 years. Great support department too!
