I bought a grill in December 2019, and the heating element broke. This is the second time that has happened to me, I had another grill in 2017, and the same thing happened ten months later. And when I want to buy the part, it is always in back order, so I do not recommend Charbroil electric grills at all

Will not work on 15A breaker

This will trip any breaker or GFCI outlet. Cannot get it to remain on.

Flare ups

Doesn’t hold temp.

Very disappointed in this product. Grill would reach high temp for preheat but after opening top and filling grill it would never regain temp. Has not been used 10 times and now it’s not getting hot at all.

Does not stay hot!

We bought this for our apartment balcony because of the size and it’s electric. Unfortunately, we are sorely disappointed. We do heat it up for 20 min to get it to 500 degrees, but once you open the lid and put the meat on (and we do this as fast as possible) and close the lid, the temperature drops way down and we can’t get it up again past 350. It takes a LONG time to cook the food because it doesn’t remain hot. We do clean it after every use to keep it running optimal. Have to say, between the amount of electricity it uses and the length of time to cook, we might as well cook our meat on the stove! We bought it only a month ago so it’s brand new and we have buyer’s remorse.

This Grill has way too many flaws...

I bought my Red Tru-Infrared Grill about two months ago because the Condo I live in only allows electric grills. I figured "infrared" would be state-of-the-art in this genre. I was wrong.
1) I live at only a modestly high elevation in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson, Arizona. (roughly 2500 ft above sea-level). 550 degrees has NOT been searing my steaks, or anything else, despite letting the grill reach and STAY AT max temp. for up to an hour before cooking.
2) I learned only after buying my Red Charbroil Electric InfraRed Grill, that only Infrared Grills made prior to 2020 are able to accomodate any kind or brand of universal Rotisserie attachment. To learn this, one must "investigate" for hours on the internet---another outcome of "planned obsolescence" practices manufacturers and engineers still cling to as religiously as the American Food Industry and FDA still promote "saturated fats", and not sugar, trans-fats, and processed foods, as the food-containing "killers" in the Americans diet. No wonder "lies of omission" are easily overlooked---they are either completely "disassembled" (rendering them unintelligable), or no sign of their existance at all can be found on product labels.
3) "Pulling" or "pushing" this grill once it has become hot, notwithstanding that it has "wheels", is all-but-impossible, and therefore dangerous! I doubt this was "planned for", but it doesn't speak well for your company, regardless if it has made available a "retro-fit" for the handle that can (only?) be purchased online.

Lacking

I own 2 of the Patio Bistro, one electric and one propane. I love the propane model but the electric model is lacking in power/heating capability. It takes forever to get to temperature(500 degrees). Most times it will not reach 550. Food does not 'char broil' at the lower temps but tends to just bake your food. Needs either larger or more electric coils or place them closer to the cooking surface.

Low quality and doesn’t last

I bought mine in January and it died after 3 months. The heating element stopped working. Giant waste of money.
